Being a Toddler's Mom

Being a Mom is probably the most rewarding thing that I will ever do in my life. It will also fill my life with stories to tell others, some that will make us laugh and some that will make you cry. Today I am going to tell you a story from me, mom to two toddlers that will hopefully make you laugh.

It really does not start that funny because it started out that my 2 year old toddler son had a nasty ear infection that we could not get rid of. The Doctor had prescribed my son some stronger antibiotics for his ear infection that would hopefully clear it up and get him back to being the fun toddler that he is!

At the current time we did not have health insurance and I had to treat the ear infection with cash and cash was currently limited. When I got to Wal-Mart to fill the prescription, the pharmacist told me it would be $50. I only had about $50 in my bank account and that was for the rest of the week. Of course, I knew I had to treat my toddler's ear infection but I also had to feed my other toddler and needed gas for work to keep money coming in.

I asked the pharmacist if there was something else strong that we could treat my toddler's ear infection with and he said he would call the Doctor. While the pharmacist was on the phone my kids started to get restless and upset, they were only two and three. I did everything that I could to calm them down but you could tell from the stares that I was getting, it was not satisfactory. The pharmacist finished the call and told me that the Doctor would not change the medication and this is what he wanted us to have to treat the ear infection. After several minutes of trying to tend to my kids and talk with the pharmacist, the pharmacist finally said "Will $25 work?" I was astonished, amazed and grateful all at the same time. I said yes, paid for my purchase and was on my way out with my now screaming children.

I laugh now at the story as I tell you how to save money on ear infections, but I distinctly remember it was not funny at the time. It was not funny at all.
