Monk's Cafe

At any given time there is over a dozen beers on tap with upwards of 150 + beers available by the bottle from around the world. The Monk's cafe owner also proudly serves an exclusive Belgian beer made just for Monk's by an actual monastery in Belgium. Monk's serves up a variety of Belgian and American foods and is known for it's steamed mussels that come served in large pots. The mussels are simmered in Monk's custom designed broths; some which include Belgian beers as the broth itself.

Post a CommentHorrible place! My husband and I went there to sample the large menu of beers and grab some lunch. The Mussels were under cooked in what tasted like dish water. We sat in a room with large paintings of naked ladys. It was not very pleasent to sit across from while you are eating. The water was as hot as the temperature outside. The Burgers were raw in the middle when we asked for medium well. We waited a very long time for the food which sucked. The beer was the only good thing.
Beer cafes! That's a new concept to me.
Interesting - especially since I live in a dry county.
