My first reaction to the news of Bin Laden's demise was disbelief. "I want to see the dead pictures." I was not the first person to reiterate the demand. And it's not the first time Americans demanded substantiation of Obama's claims.
So we went online to see what proofs might verify the kill. After all, when Bush took down Saddam Hussein, we saw the "dead pictures." Seeing is believing, in many folks' eyes.
Not only that, we take what Obama says with several grains of salt. I'm quite a disbeliever about what he says anyway. All that self-glorifying rhetoric represents a twisted reality, if not downright lies. It wouldn't be the first time Obama distorted the truth.
Now, I wish not to be the purveyor of yet more lies, but the so-called truth of the kill is a photoshopped shot of the dead Bin Laden. Warning: it's graphic. They did a good job. I wanted to believe it and did for, oh, about 45 minutes until the real truth came out. It's creative computer graphics of a real but unnamed dead man. It's not Osama.
Just like Obama with his words.
Time will tell to know whether Osama is dead. But it will take no more time to know whether Obama's words are real or fake.
