Bellingham, Washington: The Anderson Creek Lodge

Stormy Brooke Swain
Take a short drive east of Bellingham to The Anderson Creek Lodge Bed and Breakfast and Meeting Center. They are located on 60 acres of beautiful country, which guests share with fifteen friendly llamas. If you are up for a hike, there are many trails, which allow guests to explore the Anderson Creek property. Anyone visiting can tell that the owners of the Lodge payed much attention to exactly what a guest would want, when successfully building this bed and breakfast. The breakfast is fully organic and is made to accommodate each guest's specific tastes, while the common areas are just as inviting as the private rooms are.

The interior of the Anderson Creek Lodge has a wonderful area in front of the huge rock fireplace as well as chairs and seating placed in areas for reading or just watching the day pass you by. There is a smaller sitting room that offers a television to watch movies on, comfortable leather seating and an additional fireplace with wing-backed chairs.

Each morning you will find a homemade, fresh, organic breakfast served to you in the dining room. You have use of the microwave, while you visit as well as the complimentary beverages in the mini fridge. High quality coffees and teas are available each morning as well.

Each room at the Lodge has a private bathroom, a television with cable, wireless internet and a hair dryer. The San Juan Suite and the Cascade Room are the most popular rooms at the lodge, because of the comfortable feel and lovely decor. If you are interested in a reservation or a photo tour of all of the rooms, feel free to visit the Anderson Creek Lodge's website.

The San Juan Suite

The San Juan Suite offers a wonderful sitting area in front of a fireplace. A king-sized bed is the center of the room, while an additional sitting area is in front of sliding glass doors that access a deck. The deck is a great place to view the forest while enjoying a good book or conversation. The price for the suite is about $160 and well worth every penny.

The Cascade Room

The Cascade Room is very cosy and has lovely stained glass windows above the fireplace. This room looks like one out of a modern log cabin, and has wonderful decor on the walls. The two leather side chairs by the fireplace make this a lovely room for two. The bathroom is light and has a roomy shower. The tile work in the bathroom makes it a unique addition to the rooms comfortable feel. You will pay $120 for this room, and all of the others accept for the suite.
