Yes, belly dancing is becoming a hot trend for exercise and personal hobby these days. There are many beneficial reasons to get into belly dancing. According to www.atlantabellydance.com, a few of the health benefits of belly dancing are: improved posture; muscle toning; stress reduction; and weight loss. Belly dancing, unlike other forms of dance like ballet, doesn't work against the body, but works with it. You will feel the benefits of this aerobic exercise.

If you live in the greater Sacramento area and are looking for belly dancing lessons, you have plenty of options. Here is information on Sacramento belly dancing lessons:

1) Learn the art of belly dancing with Adriane.

Website: www.adrianedance.com

Location: Fair Oaks

Contact information: You can contact Adriane via phone at 916-225-5599 or by email at Adriane@adrianedance.com

Adriane, an experienced belly dancer, has been seen on Good Morning Sacramento and featured in the Sacramento Bee. She has been teaching belly dancing lessons since 2000, and started belly dancing at the age of 14. She is certified in Forrest-style yoga, which, I believe, is a form of yoga partly used to strengthen the abdomen through deep breaths and stretching. According to Adriane's Web site, she incorporates yoga warm-ups and teaches primarily Egyptian Cabaret style belly dancing. Also, students will learn about the culture and history of belly dance.

When you show up for belly dancing lessons, your clothing attire should consist of workout or yoga clothing. It's beneficial for you if you wear clothes that aren't too loose because Adriane will be able to see your movements. You won't need any shoes, as belly dancers usually dance bare footed. If you like, you can wear ballet slippers. You can also purchase a coin hip scarf from Adriane.

Beginners will need to bring a yoga mat for warm-ups. Intermediate students will need to bring finger cymbals and a 2 ½-3 yard veil.

There are plenty more to choose from. So if you don't have a lot of money to spend or time to take lessons, this is a perfect way to learn the art of belly dancing. Plus, you can always pause it, rewind, or play again with the DVD!
