Beltone Company that started in 1940 has been in business for the last six decades. They have wide varieties in digital models too. Their models in the shell styled mini BTE hearing aid are One!, Corus, Linq, Access, Edge, Mira, Arca and in the canal models are Invisa, Petite, and the Opera Plus. Besides hearing aids, Beltone also manufactures loud alarm clocks, amplified cordless phones, Bluetooth ear sets priced at $145, personal listening systems with a price range of $170-$200, neckloops for $150 and phone modules for $50. Beltone has sold products to countless people and brought hope and happiness to many families through their innovative products.
Beltone's listening systems are designed to help one hear in open places like markets, theaters. Hearing in public places can be hard whether or not one is hearing challenged. The deaf were limited to reading lips or interpreting actions while at theaters and concerts or other events. This causes a less understanding of the information.
Hearing impaired who live by themselves found much difficulty in wearing their aids during sleep time. It would be even more of a problem when they had to wake up early. The older aids were quite uncomfortable for night time usage. Wake up calls like alarms or phone rings or door knocking would go unheard by the individual. Some of the waking methods for a hearing impaired would be to put a timer on an overhead light source so that the brightness would wake the person up. But for people who are not disturbed by light, this would be ineffective. If the person is a frequent traveler, this method would not be suitable. Thanks to Beltone wake and shake alarm watch this problem can now be taken care of. Priced at $70, it has vibration and flashing strobe which can be activated at preset timings.
Beltone products are available in most countries like New England, Canada and the U.S. But finding a representative or service agent would be a challenge.
Although Beltone sells its own batteries for all its products, regular batteries available at all stores and pharmacies can be used. Branded batteries are sold at $6 for a parcel of 4 and Eco-gold is sold at $6 for 6 piece package. Batteries can be ordered from AARP magazines and is available in bigger quantity of 42 nos. for $25. An unsatisfied customer can even return the package unopened and claim a refund.
