Description:
Bendaroos are bendable building sticks about 5 inches in length. They are made out of a very strong wax. The sticks can be bent and twisted and pressed together to build and create quirky objects. The sticks can also be used to ornament objects in the home such as pencils, musical instruments, glasses or flower pots. The possibilities are endless because the sticks are very durable and stick well to pretty much any thing with a hard surface. Bendaroos come in many quantities from 110 in a pack to 300 or even 500 in a pack.
What's in the package:
You can purchase different quantities of Bendaroos. Generally, if you purchase the smaller sized package of Bendaroos the only things that will come in the package are the building sticks and a booklet that shows you how to build various objects to play with. Some of the objects that the booklet teaches you to build are; a mouse, a dog, a cat, bunny rabbit and owl. If you purchase the Bendaroos in a larger quantity the package might include traceable templates and the fun guide booklet. Bendaroos come in various theme sets such as; garden, ocean creatures, zoo animals, cute pets, fun with foods, and creepy crawlers. Bendaroos also come in various colors such as neon or rainbow colored.
The Review
Bendaroos are extremely durable and bendable just as the commercial advertises. They bend, stretch, and twist without breaking. They also have the ability to stick onto many surfaces including walls. However, the commercial makes it seem as though building with Bendaroos is extremely fun and easy, but building with Bendaroos can be extremely difficult, and tiresome. It takes multiple sticks to build one tiny little object and so you will not get to make much using the ordinary 100 count of Bendaroos. Building objects that are in the booklet consists of analyzing confusing directions, and then continuously wrapping and sticking, sticking and wrapping which seems to take forever!
Children under the age 7 may have a hard time finding joy in the Bendaroos as they might expect immediate results whereas it can take a good hour to build one single object with Bendaroos. Not only are Bendaroos tiring, they also leave a waxy residue on your fingers that can be a bit irritating after awhile. Many of the objects in the booklet require the use of aluminum foil so be sure to purchase aluminum foil if you don't already have some in your home. You will also need scissors as you will be required to cut some of the Bendaroos to build certain objects and Bendaroos are very difficult to tear by hand.
Pros: Bendaroos are flexible and durable and stick to surfaces and together well. There is no mess and the fun guide gives you plenty of ideas of objects to make.
Cons: Building with Bendaroos is very tedious and difficult.
This product is recommended for children 3 and up and can be purchased at retail stores such as Walmart or toysrus or ordered online through the official Bendaroos website.
I rate this product a meager 1 out of 5. Unfortunately, it does not live up to its expectations.
