Benefit Badgal Lash Mascara Review

The Name Says it All

I recently had the chance to try out several types of mascaras when I was given Sephora's deluxe mascara sampler. I don't wear makeup often, but when I do I try to keep it minimal with mascara and lipgloss, maybe a little blush. Sephora's deluxe mascara was actually something I wanted and my boyfriend was sweet enough to get it for me for my birthday. In it there were ten different types of mascaras, and among them were Benefit's Badgal lash mascara in black.

There were several aspects of Benefit Badgal lash mascara that I liked, but like most products it wasn't perfect. I'll start off with the pros according to me first. What I liked about Benefit Badgal lash mascara was that it was available in four colors, even though the black came with my sampler set. This mascara lengthens, thickens and separates amazingly well. There was little to no clumping, at least as far as I can tell, and I've used this almost every day for weeks now. I really liked that Benefit Badgal lash mascara didn't smudge or smear either. I hate mascaras that smudge and smear with a passion. I didn't realize how much I hated it until I had to constantly check the mirror to make sure my eyes weren't a mess. One of the best part was that this mascara didn't flake either, which is just great for me as a contact lens wearer. From what I can tell Benefit Badgal lash mascara lasts all day and holds my curls even though it's not waterproof. I absolutely love the way it makes my lashes look, as if I were wearing false lashes but without making them look so obviously fake, and no glue to mess around with.

There were some downside to Benefit Badgal lash mascara too. The main thing I didn't like about this mascara was it's brush. It's extremely bushy and thick, and there were many times where I'd get mascara on the skin around my eyes and had to clean it up. On the plus side it's very easy to clean up with a q-tip, with or without water. The price is a bit steep too but not as bad as some of the other mascaras I've seen of the same quality. Benefit Badgal lash mascara costs $19 at Sephora.

My overall conclusion of Benefit Badgal lash mascara is that it's a superb mascara. Yes, it has some down side to it but what's a few minor issues when the mascara is so close to perfection? Even at $19 a tube I would definitely buy the full size version of this mascara.
