Benefit of Non-Alcholic New Year's Celebration

What is the benefit of a Non-Alcoholic New Year's Celebration? A non-alcoholic New Year's Celebration can be beneficial for many reasons. Why does there have to be alcohol involved anyway? Can't we just enjoy the New Year without having to worry about escaping reality with alcohol? Too many people will make the choice of drinking heavily on New Year's Eve to bring in the New Year and 2010. Everyone is of course entitled to make that choice but I plan on enjoying a non-alcoholic New Year's celebration and here's why.

1) Alcohol can prevent you from enjoying the reality of a New Year
A non-alcoholic New Year's celebration may actually help you focus on the task at hand like resolutions and also reflect on what happened during the previous year. Alcohol might distort reality and prevent you from setting new goals and weighing in on what went right and what went wrong in 2009. New Year's Eve without alcohol can be just as fun and perhaps even more retrospective.

2) Hangovers aren't fun
Does it really make sense to wake up on the first day of 2010 with a hangover? A non-alcoholic New Year's celebration would prevent that from happening. A New Year's Eve without alcohol can produce a good night of sleep you wouldn't have had. You won't have to waste January 1, 2010 by sleeping, moaning and taking Advil if you have a New Year's Eve without alcohol.

3) You'll get to bed earlier and wake up feeling great
Staying up to ring in 2010 isn't a bad thing. Most will stay up to midnight and toast. Why not toast with a non-alcoholic beverage like cider or non-alcoholic wine or beer? Maybe your New Year's resolution is to quit drinking. Why not begin one day earlier? Either way you'll wake up feeling terrific and you'll be able to spend the day watching football, shopping or spending time with friends if you have a New Year's Eve without alcohol.

4) Driving Home from a bar isn't alway a great idea on New Year's Eve
Many people will consume alcohol on New Year's Eve. Unfortunately, many of those same people will be driving while intoxicated. If you plan on going to a bar then you'll have to drive back on one of the most dangerous nights of the year to drive. You'll probably want to be sober to avoid any bad drivers or just choose not to go to a bar to start with if you are celebrating a non-alcoholic New Year's Eve. Why take the risk of driving to begin with if there are so many drunk drivers on the roads? A non-alcoholic New Year's Eve alleviates the fear of being hit by someone who has enjoyed one too many. Chances are you won't want to even be at the bar scene if you are enjoying a non-alcoholic New Year's Eve!

5) Play games with the family instead
Board games like Trivial Pursuit, Balderdash or Monopoly are good alternatives if you plan on enjoying a Non-Alcoholic New Year's Eve. You may get more laughs by sitting around with the family and then hugging once the clock strikes midnight. And unlike with an alcohol and heavy drinking night, you might actually remember the fun you had!

I hope these Non-Alcoholic New Year's Eve Celebration tips put you in the spirit of bringing in a New Year without alcohol. If you choose to drink remember to be safe and make sure your friends who are drinking alcohol don't drive!
