BeneFit's Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Bunny Hop - Product Review

Some Sort of Hybrid that Doesn't Fall in Either Category

Layla A.
BeneFit may claim that these shadows are creaseless, but in my opinion, that is a lie. While I adore BeneFit for their cool new ideas and some select products, their eye stuff does not impress me a lot. I tried this out thinking it could be a colorful version of UDPP to go with different looks, but I was far from right.

COLOR

Bunny Hop is a frosty medium pink with what looks like rainbow shimmer. It is a very pretty color and perfect for spring, and I think that the name totally describes the shade- it's really cute. Bunny Hop would be a great base under any pinks or even creamy colors for a pink tint. The color is awesome, but this product is not satisfactory in the major department of formula.

FORMULA

Creaseless Cream Shadows have some truth to their name- they are extremely creamy. When you first put them on, they are easy to blend. After a certain amount of time, they stay put for good. I really like the creaminess and the pigmentation is actually really decent, but these are definitely not creaseless. UDPP is my holy grail of eye primers, but I wanted to try a BeneFit one (plus I got it on sale). When using UDPP, my eyeshadow stays in place all day long! Even if I am up sixteen hours, it stays vibrant and perfect. After eight hours with this, I had a giant, unsightly line of my eye makeup across my lid- it was horrible! I love how these blend, but come on! This is not a good base alone, but does do very well over a primer such as UDPP.

FUNCTIONALITY

Since this is a light cream shadow, it is easy to apply, blend, and makes a great highlight, depending on the shade. Since it cannot double as a primer, it loses points on functionality. But, this is still a really good cream shadow (expect creasing when used alone).

PACKAGING

The packaging on these is adorable! They come in a little glass pot, much like a Paint Pot or Fluidline, and have an adorable bird sticker with their logo on the top. The bottom displays the color and more information about the product, but I really like this packaging. Clean like MAC with a cute touch you don't see often. I wouldn't throw this in my purse as it is glass, but it would probably do fine if you wanted to take the chance.

PRICE

BeneFit Creaseless Cream Shadows retail for $19 at 4.5 grams. Since they claim to be creaseless, I feel like this is a bit of a rip-off, but I got mine for really cheap in a makeup sale. Would I pay full price? No. Even for a cream shadow, they are slightly thin, not super thick or mousse-like which is what I imagine cream shadows to be like.

FINAL OPINIONS

If you are not looking for a primer or first step, these are fairly good products. Again, they do not quite meet the requirements for a primer/base or a cream shadow, so what these actually are is lost on me. You can find these wherever BeneFit products are sold, and even if I don't like them, you really might! They do have some great colors and it you are a makeup whiz, these are definitely worth a shot.
