Benefits of Distance Reiki Treatments

Lucy Myers
In person Reiki treatments are intimate and fulfill our need for human contact. But sometimes a distance Reiki treatment is more beneficial. These benefits include:

Shorter treatment time. Reiki treatments can last up to two hours in person. But it only takes a few minutes to send distance healing. Though it's possible to receive a full treatment, just as you would in person, many practitioners simply send Reiki and intend it to go where it's needed most. Many distance treatments last an hour or more as well, but some practitioners only take a few seconds to send Reiki and let it run until it tapers off. Though it seems like a shorter treatment and does indeed take less time on the part of both practitioner and recipient, these treatments are just as effective as longer treatments.

Ability to keep working. You can receive a distance treatment while going about your usual activities. It often helps to relax in a quiet place, but it isn't strictly necessary. If you're busy--and who isn't?--you can continue working while receiving the many benefits of Reiki.

Comes to sick people. Instead of going for a Reiki treatment when you're sick, a distance treatment comes to you. All you need is to be open to receiving it. It may not make you well immediately, but it will serve your highest good. Whatever it does, however, it will never harm you. Reiki can do no harm.

Facilitates regular treatments. If you're seeking on-going treatment, your Reiki practitioner can set the intention to send you Reiki at a certain time, either for a specific duration or until it tapers off. This way, you can have regular treatments, but don't have to attend regular appointments.

Transcends time. That is, you can receive a distance treatment from across the country or across the world. It doesn't matter if you're in a different time zone, or even if you're asleep during the treatment. All that matters is that a practitioner has sent you Reiki, and you're open to receiving it. Some practitioners will even send Reiki, intending that you can pull it in whenever you want. This simply means you can say, either silently or aloud, that you want to receive Reiki. You'll receive the treatment, and it will work just as well as a treatment with the practitioner in the room.

There are many benefits to both in person and distance Reiki treatments, some specific to one or the other. But no matter which you choose, you'll receive a quality, effective treatment that will relax and invigorate you, helping you on your personal healing journey.
