Socialization
One of the most important benefits of doggie daycare is socialization. Doggie daycares are supervised by loving workers, and your dog will get to interact with people and doggie peers. Your dog will learn important lessons in sharing, playing nicely and other necessary doggie manners. Fifi will also have positive reinforcement of lessons she's learned in doggie obedience classes, to keep these skills fresh in her mind.
Safety
If you are gone to work during the day, it is a great idea to send your dog to daycare for safety reasons. No one wants a disaster to happen to their home, but these things unfortunately happen sometimes. Likewise, Fluffy could choke on food, escape the yard or get into other trouble without your supervision. Sending Fido to daycare will keep him safe and secure while you are at work, or even out running errands, and make sure that nothing happens to him when you can't be by his side.
Boredom/Mischief
When dogs are left uncrated at home while Mom or Dad is out, we all know that they can get into mischief. Boredom will cause dogs to create things to keep themselves occupied. This can include chewing shoes, tearing up important documents, shredding Mom or Dad's bedding, unrolling all of the toilet paper rolls in the house, and using the restroom inside instead of outside. If you leave your dog out in the yard, she can escape and go exploring. Doggie daycare will keep your pooch entertained with games, toys and activities, and keep your house from being hit by a doggie tornado while you are gone.
Exercise
It goes without saying that doggie daycare is a great source of exercise. Dogs should be walked at least once a day, and twice is better. Sending your dog to daycare will allow him to get much-needed exercise, and take a burden off your shoulders. I have two dogs that I send to part-time daycare, and on daycare days they don't need walks. They come home and collapse in little piles of SIberian Husky tiredness and nap on my lap. Daycare allows them to run and play to their heart's content, and work off excess energy so you can spend quality time with them in the evenings.
Whether you work from home or outside your home, doggie daycare is a great choice for any dog. Doggie daycare is inexpensive, and most doggie daycares provide webcams so you can keep an eye on your fur-baby throughout the day. In addition, most doggie daycares offer a free day of daycare so you can try out their services. If you have a doggie daycare in your area, it is definitely worth checking out.
