Benefits of Eating Enzyme Rich Foods

R. Bourne, Ph.D.
What are enzymes? Different food chemistry books define a little bit different enzymes but essentially they are biological catalyzes that speed up biochemical reactions. For example they are responsible fro breaking up the starches, fat, and proteins that we eat.

The idea here is that enzymes are key to a better help since they help you get more nutrition from the food you eat. You need to eat food that is rich in enzymes so you have plenty of nutrients for a better health

Enzymes are proteins and they are easily destroyed by different external factors being temperature one of them. Each enzyme has a characteristic denaturation (a process by which the enzyme looses its structure) temperature. But, cooking food certainly "kills"all available bacteria in food. That is why raw food is better off, in term of enzyme content, than cooked food or processed food.

Sprouted nuts, seeds and grains, fresh fruits and vegetables and raw dairy products are certainly rich in enzymes, so eat them plenty. These enzyme are said to assist your body in many functions and to prevent many diseases. It is just common sense they say: If you need enzymes why do not eat them.

Proponents of eating enzymes for better help say that sprouting is an inexpensive way to add enzymes to your body. Instead of buying costly dietary enzymes, sprout your grains and add enzymes naturally to your body. How to sprout seeds and cereals. Just soak seeds in water and let the seed take care of it. Is that simple.

It is also said that enzymes can help be cancer free and can be used in cancer therapy. In fact many oncologist use enzyme as and aid for cancer treatment.

If enzymes are a necessary part of our life why not eat them more. At least you will be doing something good fro your body.
