A pregnancy journal is also a practical way to keep track of your symptoms and various information that you will need to share with your doctor.
What to look for in a pregnancy journal:
-Compact. It will need to be a portable size that she can carry with her so she can have it with her to bring to the doctor's office. She will need it to jot down the various milestones when they occur.
-Customizable. You want the journal to contain enough information to be useful but also to give you that extra leeway to customize it to her situation. You don't want it to be pink when you don't know what she is having yet. Opt for neutral colors such as yellow, green or cream until they know for sure what she is having.
-Envelopes. A good thing to have to keep track of doctor's appointments, and organize those notes and scraps of paper.
-Calendar. A necessity to keep track of doctor's appointments, pregnancy milestones and a week tracker.
-Photo slots. Definitely need to have before and after photo capability but also look for ones that will have more versatility. This will include slots for father and extended family member reactions.
-Journaling Spots. This gives her a place to journal her thoughts and emotions as she goes through this experience. It also allows dad a place to put his thoughts and feelings down. It gives her a place to jot down symptoms and a convenient way to bring it to her doctor to discuss them.
Another added benefit to a pregnancy journal is that once you have the baby, it can then be added to the baby book or turned into a scrapbook.
Pregnancy is an exciting time. Unfortunately it also is a stressful time and most pregnant woman will opt for a way to make it easier. For some women, it goes by too fast and you miss important things. Buy your loved one a pregnancy journal so she can jot down the memories to keep for a lifetime. She will cherish it and it will give her child an insight into what to expect when their time comes.
