India was the crown jewel of Great Britain's imperialist empire. This is the most important piece of land to Great Britain. Its geographical location is a natural trade route stops to East Asia. Its massive land provides many of the raw materials needs for factories in mainland Britain. It also has a large population as potential market for manufactured goods. India received many benefits from Britain's rule mostly in economy and education. The British rule in India helped India build up its capital for the future as an independent country.
British imperialism had an enormous impact on India, especially on its economy. Great Britain brought in western enlightenment ideas and transformed India. During the time when India was under British rule, many western technologies were introduced to civilize and upgrade India. Countless infrastructures were built. For transporting raw materials and manufactured goods inside India, Great Britain built the world's third largest rail road system in India. British also build numerous roads, canals, and irrigation systems. The irrigation systems along with other advanced farming method helped improved India's productivity to produce indigo, tea, coffee, cotton and other cash crops.
Although there is almost no famine going on during the time due to the amount of work British puts into farming and irrigation, but allowing remarriage of Hindu widows creates equally between man and woman. This will also give a bust to the individual family's standard of living by having one person working full time and another stay at home, and carry out the daily tasks, like taking care the children.
Great Britain also established postal service, and telegraph in India to increase the speed of communication. India also gets assistance from Great Britain in improving education. Great Britain builds public schools and universities, and creates equal education for both man and women. "All parties seem to be agreed on one point, that the dialects commonly spoken among the natives of the part of India, contain neither literary nor scientific information, and are, moreover, so poor and rude that, until they are enriched from some other quarter, it will not be easy to translate any valuable word into them" (Macaulay) British rule increased the literacy rate by providing education under a common language, English; this is a benefit to India since almost all of the enlightenment works are in English. This would eliminate the needs for translation books into either Sanskrit or Arabic and making teaching more effective.
India received many benefit from Great Britain, it Gained capital for is future. Great Britain helped India build many infrastructures that will last long into the future even after the British army moves out. Thee infrastructures along with the advanced education program will give India an upper hand in the highly competitive world stage. Great Britain also found many raw materials that can be easily produced in India, and thus being more wealth to the country. Great Britain transformed India from many undeveloped city states into a unified country with a large potential for successes.

India's trade and economy was far more advanced than the whole of Europe in the time of the invasion. The only reason the UK succeeded with their invasion was because they were a little bit more advanced militarily in comparison to India. '
