Food grown organically is safer and more nutritious than food grown otherwise. Organic foods have a higher level of many of the nutrients that our bodies need in order to stay healthy and fight disease. This is important evidence for us to take into consideration when feeding ourselves and our families.
When I began testing out the organic food market, I started with fruits. I immediately noticed a taste difference between the organic choices and the non-organic choices available. The organic fruits were much tastier, more pleasing to the pallet. It was a wonderful experience for me, to enjoy food even more than I had been doing for years.
I learned that there were people in my state who cared enough about nutrition to grow and raise food organically, in organic soil, without the harmful pesticides to nurture growth. This motivated me to look into growing my own food, which I did last summer using organic soil and no pesticides.
My garden was a small one. It was mainly for salad purposes. I grew cabbage, tomatoes, lettuce, small carrot varieties and peas. Growing only these items gave me salads for my enjoyment almost every day. These foods tasted so much better than the non-organic foods that I had been purchasing at the store for years. I was amazed at the difference, and loved eating healthier foods.
While exceptional taste is the most noticeable benefit of eating organically grown foods, there are other benefits as well. For instance, organic soy milk can help to fight heart disease. I was hesitant to try soy milk in the beginning, but it is really quite tasty. I prefer vanilla flavored Silk soy milk. To me, it has the best taste.
Organic foods are certainly better for your health than non-organic foods. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis while in my early 20's. I was always told to drink milk, have lots of dairy. As it turns out, the calcium from those products was not what my bones needed. In fact, soy milk is a much better choice than regular milk. Organic soy milk is, of course, the best choice.
