BeneFit's You Rebel Lite Tinted Moisturizer - Product Review

While I do get a lot of blemishes, I do not like wearing liquid foundation as it makes the problem worse rather than better. I was having trouble finding a good option for light-medium coverage, but my mom recommended I try a BeneFit product. You don't have to twist my arm- I really like BeneFit. Needless to say, I have finally found my foundation.

COLOR

I have the You Rebel Lite, and it is a perfect match for my skin. I am Fairly Light in Bare Minerals, just as a reference point. My mom has You Rebel, and she is maybe two shades darker than me. Yes- people with darker skin tones, you will probably not have a color match from either of these. It does blend out very well, but if the color is five shades lighter than you, it's pretty hopeless. For the fair-light-medium people, this is going to also be hard to match. I really wish they carried more colors, but of course, they don't. You Rebel Lite is the same color as my liquid foundation or powder would be and matches me perfectly.

FORMULA

This tinted moisturizer is really easy to blend into your skin, especially with the warmth of your hands. I do find that with a brush, it applies very streaky. I also have permanent sunburn on my face, and this does not do an amazing job of covering it up, but nothing really does. Any recommendations? It is very creamy and comes out of the tube pretty thick. But a little goes a long way if you warm it in your fingers. This gives light to medium coverage, but covers more than any other tinted moisturizer I have ever found. I really like this as it is light on your face and never cakey as some liquid foundations I have sampled.

FUNCTIONALITY

This product is fabulous for anyone going for a natural look. It is also great as a summer foundation and for a teen who doesn't want to wear liquid foundation. You apply once in the morning for a natural glow and that's it! I would apply a powder over it just to make your face matte, but it certainly doesn't make your face oily either.

PACKAGING

You Rebel Lite comes in a yellow tube with red writing while You Rebel comes in a red tube with yellow writing. I like the tube, but hate that it is made of metal! Whenever you squeeze product out, it leaves a giant dent in the tube. BeneFit's other packaging is always so cute, but I can't get with this one.

PRICE

At $30, this tinted moisturizer is not cheap! However, one tube will last a good amount of time. Luckily, I was able to get mine online on a discount site, but know people that pay full price and are completely happy they did. I do recommend this, but it also has to do with skin type. I wouldn't shell out the $30 for this before trying it and making sure it worked on my skin. For some people, especially those with darker skin tones, I would stay away from this product. But, if it works for you, let me know- I would love to hear about it!

FINAL OPINIONS

This tinted moisturizer has changed my life, but a lot of people will probably find something better. I have noticed that BeneFit doesn't really carry foundation shades for the darker spectrum women out there, and I really don't like that- only making two shades is seriously limiting how far your product will go in the market.
