More Family Time: Perhaps the most obvious benefit and largest reason work at home is becoming a more popular option. Working from home gives you the financial benefits of a job outside of the home, while providing your children with the benefit of having you around whenever they need you.
No Commute: With gas prices on the rise as they have been for awhile and with no end in sight, while you're making money from home, you are saving money by not having to use gas to get back and forth to your job. It's a win-win situation. All you have to do is get the motivation to go to your computer each day. That's not hard to do, as there are personal tasks to complete each day like email, you can do your work while in front of the computer for that reason.
Flexible Schedule: Work from home generally mandates no schedule, and sometimes not even a quota. This means that you can work whenever it is convenient for you. While the kids are in school, while they are playing or eating their meals, and in between loads of laundry and dishes. So, even if something comes up, there is no boss to call, and you can go about your personal business while maintaining your professional business.
No Daycare or Latch-Key Kids: While you work from home, you can take care of your responsibilities as home. So, this means you don't have to pay the outrageous daycare fees, and you are able to be at home when your children get home from school. The importance of having family there for your children, and the added benefit of not having to worry about leaving your children alone is perhaps the best benefit that working from home can offer.
Even though many would consider the aforementioned benefits of working at home to be common sense and obvious, it can be very helpful and quite a motivator to remind yourself of them from time to time. This is especially true if you are down on your luck during your search for work at home job opportunities, or if you just can't seem to find the motivation to work on the job you have at home.

Post a CommentWe've been work at home parents for about 7 years now. Thanks to a disability and Social Securities refusal to help, it became a must. It has left us a little on the poor side, but the family unit is much closer, therefore much more valuable.
