Benigno 'Noynoy" Aquino : The Game Breaker and the Significance of the Surname Attached To Him

September 01, 2009
Mar Roxas announced, I am announcing my support for the candidacy of Noynoy Aquino in 2010."
Nine days later Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III made his own announces, ' I accept the call of the people and the advice of my parents, and the responsibility to continue the fight for our nation."
If these scenes were to be aired in the primetime television, surely, it would be the top rated programs among households. The drama of Senator Mar Roxas withdrawal form the presidential race and the acceptance of Senator Noynoy Aquino of the challenge to continue the fight were just too perfect for a drama series.

The turn of events in the past months has become a whirlwind in the political scene that even the newest episode of Grey's Anatomy was not able to overshadow it.
The massive turn-out of Benigno "NOynoy" aquino Jr. and his approval for the candidacy as President of the Philippines shocked thousands or even millions of Filipinos. Surveys revealed that almost half of the respondents chose Aquino to be their upcoming president. Just for the mere fact that Aquino came from a very influential family with high moral virtues, it is undoubtedly possible to have the hope in him that he may have the chance to make the whole country unite.

Millions of Filipinos believe that Aquino's chances of unraveling his father's be fulfilled as he assumes the position. Some, on the other hand, are in doubt of his potentials and capabilities to rule our cokuntry and this ples for him to run was triggered by the suden death of Corazon Aquino, rot seemingly a valid reason for such imposition.

His capablilities are intangible in the eyes of many Filipinos, unlike those of his parents, making him not ready ad not suitable as president. He may possess great courage and enthusiasm, making him a contender, but the people are not after his leadership but by the surname attached to him.
In this game of hunger for position, Aquino proves that he is tough and ready to fight. Surely, being the game breaker, he has to struggle and fight a lot.
Can he prove that he is worthy to be the most valuable player?
