Benjamin Millepied and Natalie Portman Engaged and Expecting a Child

Benjamin Millepied and Natalie Portman are expecting their first child according to a report by People magazine.

Agents for the 29-year-old Portman told People magazine on Monday that she is engaged to Benjamin Millepied, the choreographer of her new movie "Black Swan," and that they are expecting their first child.

The date of the wedding has not been disclosed.

The couple met during the filming of Darren Aronofsky's 2010 psychological thriller "Black Swan" in which Portman stars as a New York ballet dancer who is obsessed with technical perfection.

Millepied trained Portman and actress Mila Kunis for their roles in the movie and also played a small on-screen role as a dancer.

"He knows how to change when things aren't working well," Portman told People. "Sometimes I just couldn't do something. No matter how hard I worked, I couldn't do it. He would fix it to make it something that I could do."

Natalie Portman has been nominated for a Golden Globe award for her role in "Black Swan" and she is an early favorite for an Oscar.

Benjamin Millepied, 33, was born and raised in France. He is the principal dancer and choreographer at the New York City Ballet.
