I hate to say this but he will not be remembered for his in-ring career anymore. Instead it will be that he is actually going to be remembered as the guy who killed his family. My sincerest prayers and thoughts go out to his other children from a previous marriage. I would have easily thought he would get in the Hall of Fame but he won't go in now because of this incident. You could say never say never but maybe in this case, never will be there.
The respect he had pretty much went out the window. I do think the whole story isn't out as to what really would make someone that respected to such a thing. Nobody would have ever guessed that would happen. No fan could have predicted nor anyone who has ever worked with him over the years. There was a tribute show on Raw and Vince McMahon came out to pay tribute to his wrestling career. The media should never blame WWE for that since there were no facts or details at the time of the show and also should not really have to apologize for anything like that.
With WWE taking a stance and removing all references to Chris Benoit, it can't be blamed due to the turn of events that had transpired. The current results show that it was a murder suicide. As stated before, it makes no sense that someone who was so respected would pull off such an act. It's obvious that it must have been something he was on to not think right on that and then after that as stated before, hung himself. What strikes me as odd is that he left bible books near his son and wife but for himself.
I do think the media is going to put a spin on it and be stereotypical about it and talk about steroids being the only item involved and caused it. I really doubt it a whole lot but I want to know is why exactly would anyone do that? From a fan's perspective, it's hard to believe it and it's hard to swallow it. I can say that I was personally very shocked about this and when I heard it, I thought well he's not going in the WWE Hall of Fame anytime soon after all this. If new evidence shows up and it is shown that Benoit didn't kill them, then it will be thought of as innocent but the odds of that happening is not that good. They are pretty bad.
We will never know why he did it but we can only speculate. Some fans will choose to never speak about him again due to it and I can't blame them. There will be those that choose to only respect what he's done in the ring and accomplishments and that's ok too. Then of course, there will be those who will just stay out of this whole mess and not bothering with it. I will just keep quiet about it and I can say that he's lost a respect and leave it at that.

What happened was wrong, but the whole thing seems very sketchy to me. There are a lot of things in this case that lead back to the WWE that really don't add up. Im not a huge wrestling fan, but when this came on the news, i decided to look in to it. There are just way too many things that don't add up in this case. Take for example when the WWE stated that Chris's son had Fragile X Syndrome. No one was able to find any sort of medical reports/ evidence stating this. And what about the "Phone Call" Chris supposedly recieved while at a wrestling match before going home and Killing his wife and son. The WWE stated that Chris claimed he got a phone call from his wife saying that she and their son had food poisoning and that he needed to come home right away. Did anyone ever bother to check the history of his calls on his cell phone to make sure that this story added up?
If you have anymore questions or agree or even disagree with me, I would like to hear your thoughts. Please se
well who knows if he really did it i mean anything can happen... maybe it was a psycho burglar or something... any way benoit is still respected for his career and the way of life (before he went nuts)... I mean just about any WWE superstar said that he was never mad... well maybe he hid his problems deep inside and evolved some sort of madness.. or scizophrenia (i'm not sure the skizo part can happen in real life but it could in the movie ME, MYSELF AND IRENE, where a charlie guy don't deals with his problem and then creates a inner skizo called HANK)... anyway i will still think of benoit as a happy man, and a great athlete
I was sorry to hear this story. The man must have had serious problems. You are right about him being known now for killing his family and nothing else. Great read.
