Benson's Table Tasty: Product Review

Salt Substitute for Natural Salt Flavor

J. Ellen Fedder
Where's this product been all my life? Recently, I discovered Table Tasty and found a salt substitute with a natural saltiness that explodes with flavor. But it's salt free. Not only is it salt free, but it's also gluten free, sugar free, has no MSG, no preservatives, and is all natural. Plus it has no potassium chloride.

Table Tasty Ingredient List:

Here's what the ingredient list includes: nutritional extract, carrot, red bell pepper, onion, arrowroot, lemon, citric acid, garlic, celery, dill weed, parsley, basil, allspice, paprika, and silicon dioxide to prevent caking.

Table Tasty Nutritional Facts:

The nutritional label indicates that Table Tasty has 0 calories, 0 fat, 0 cholesterol, 0 sodium, 10 mg. potassium, 0 carbs, 0 fiber, 0 sugar, and 0 protein, in a 1/4 teaspoon serving.

Table Tasty Uses:

Table Tasty includes 13 vegetables, herbs, and spices. The blend is tasty on raw or cooked food. I've used it on soups, salads, and popcorn--just about any food where I desire a salty flavor.

Table Tasty Personal Review:

I purchased several 2 oz. containers and went through them so quickly, that I'm now purchasing this product in the 16 oz. size. Believe me, I tried to duplicate the taste by making my own, but it wasn't the same. Benson's Table Tasty is worth the price. The 2 oz. product costs 4.99 and the 16 oz. product costs $24.99.

Table Tasty is product #103, and since this manufacturer makes several spice blends, it's important to note. I highly recommend Benson's Table Tasty #103 for anyone--not merely those on a low-sodium diet. There's plenty of kick and flavor in this product, all of it salt free. For me, Table Tasty is a godsend. With Table Tasty in the house, I now reach for it instead of the salt shaker.

Sounds yummy. Maybe I'll surprise my Doctor next time he asks, "Have you been cutting back on salt like I told you to?" Heh, Heh.
