Berkeley City Council Tells Marines to Get Out

The insane Berkeley City Council told the U.S. Marine Corps recruiting station it wasn't welcome in the city's downtown in a vote this week.

I think the Marines should pack up and leave. So should the Army and any other military personnel in Berkeley. As soon as they are out, the Coast Guard and Navy should move all military watercraft away from the coastline immediately adjacent to Berkeley.

At that point we should announce that the United States of America has been relieved of all duty in protecting the city of Berkeley and any country that desires to attack, occupy, or pillage the city can do so without retribution from the American armed forces. Let's see how fast the city government invites the brave men and women of our armed forces back into town once some bunch of back-woods mountain pirates land on their docks with AK47s.

Well, that would be a ludicrous thing for us to do, wouldn't it? Almost as ludicrous as an American city trying to force the US military recruiters out of their boundaries.

But the rest of this country should not stand by and do nothing while these pansie liberal sap-sucking non-profit 60s time-traveling hippie peace-harlots offend and mistreat those who have offered their very lives and sacred honor for the freedom of every citizen in this land. At the very least, we should support U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., who has proposed that all federal funds be immediately withdrawn from the City of Berkeley.

I can think of no better way to put it than the way DeMint himself did: "The First Amendment gives the City of Berkeley the right to be idiotic, but from now on they should do it with their own money."

May I add, that if ever there was a valid time and place to invoke imminent domain, this is it. Instead of using that law to remove the property of private citizens for big property developers, let's use it for what it was intended for, to procure property, by force if necessary, for the benefit of the American people when it clearly outweighs the purpose for which it is currently used. Let's invoke imminent domain to recover that parking space in front of the Marine Corps recruiting office that the city council gave to Code Pink, and let's let the Marines kick every pinko protester's tail clean off the parking lot every time they set foot on it.

The United States Marines are known to face death without flinching on a regular basis. They use popsicle sticks to kill heavily armed enemies just to conserve ammunition or to avoid waking a tired buddy during a fight. What the hell makes the city council of Berkeley think the Marines are going to flee their office just because they vote them out of town?

This isn't "just Berkeley being Berkeley" anymore. This time they've gone too far. Boycott anything that comes out of this disgraceful town.
