Bernie Mac Dies at Age 50

On August 9, 2008, Bernie Mac passed away from complications from pneumonia. He was age 50.

A two time Emmy nominated individual, Mac was best known for his superior acting abilities and his comedic personality. He started off as a stand-up comic in Chicago, gathering the attention of thousands in the city. As his popularity grew, he starred in movies such as Ocean's Eleven, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, and Mr. 3000.

The Bernie Mac Show, his own half-hour sitcom, was broadcast on the Fox network. It featured several comic antics of his. The show was unexpectedly cancelled by the Fox Network in 2006.

The acting business lost a great man today.
