Bernie Mac did live a fulfilled life. He has been married to his wife since 1974, a 34 year marriage. They conceived one daughter Ja Niece. Bernie joined the comedy circuit when he was 20 years old but did his first stand up when he was eight years old at church.
Along with his successful marriage Bernie also had a successful long standing career. He shined in the spotlight as both an actor and a comedian. One of the parts he played was on the Moesha show where he had a reoccurring role as Moesha's uncle. He eventually got his own show named after him. The Bernie Mac show had 5 seasons on Fox. The show was based on the six years he raised his nieces and nephews.
He eventually ended up doing one of his most popular comedy shows in 2000. The original Kings of comedy, where he performed comedy alongside Steve Harvey, Bill Bellamy and Cedric the Entertainer. It had a box office of 38 million dollars.
Another successful movie was Guess Who which was released in 2005 where Bernie Mac co-starred as the father who didn't approve of his daughter marrying a white man. He helped to make the movie very funny and the movie made 68.9 million dollars in the box office.
Other movies Bernie Mac has appeared in includes, Friday, Booty Call, The Players Club, Head Of State, Ocean 11, 12 and 13.
He had the lead role in the movie Mr. 3000 alongside Angela Bassett. A movie about a retired baseball player who starts playing again after it is revealed that he didn't actually have 3000 hits but 2997. The movie made 21.8 million in box office.
He has his last movie coming out next year in the Spring called Old Dogs with John Travolta, Robin Williams, Kelly Preston, Rita Williams, Matt Dillon, Seth Green and Lori Loughlin. I'm sure the movie will be a success.
Bernie Mac became a popular stand up comedian by speaking the whole truth and nothing but the truth. It was his honesty and rawness that really drew people in. But at the end of the day Bernie was still a kind, pure hearted God fearing family man, who stayed dedicated to his marriage to death did them apart. Though he is no longer here today he will always be remembered through his comedy and success
