From looking at the shots of the Mantede, there is no sign of Corvette. It looks like a car that traveled time from decades ahead of today. The design is sleek and futuristic. And the good thing is, there were no Germans to tame Project M. That means all the passion of Italian design is there. Here's a quick video that gives you a glimpse of the Bertone Mantede. However, there's uneasy feeling going around that this car isn't attractive, or is poorly designed. Well, I can't answer that for you, so you have to figure out where you stand; you either absolutely love it, or you hate it. The interior is still hidden from the public, but I can't wait to see the first real shots of what the interior will be.
What powers the Mantede? Well, we know it's a Corvette ZR1 in very elegant disguise, so it's only logical to say that it's the engine that powers the ZR1; a big, loud, monstrous 6.2 LS9 V8 producing well over 600 horsepower! So what are the figures? I haven't heard much yet from Bertone but they do say that the Mantede will do about 218 mph!
So, time has come to come up with a verdict. I've already established that I adore this car. I love it! It's my type of thing, and in my perfect world, I'd have one sitting in my garage right now. The only problem is, it'll be produce in extremely small numbers. I wouldn't be surprised if only one is ever built.
