Best 2007 Horror Flicks for a Halloween Fright

After some researching on the Internet, I discovered some of the best 2007 horror flicks. Consider gathering a group of friends together on Halloween night, turn out the lights and enjoy some or all of the five best 2007 horror flicks that are sure to have you and your guests screaming!

Without further ado -- and in no particular order -- here are five of the best 2007 horror flicks for a spooky Halloween fright:

1. The Host. When a giant monster invades a town by Han River, it abducts a little girl. Can the screwed-up family save the girl before it's too late?

"The Host may send chills up your spine. But only one will tickle your fancy and make you cry encore, not just uncle," Manohla Dargis from the New York Times said in his review of this scary but also funny 2007 horror flick.

2. 1408. 1408, a horror flick based on Stephen King's short story and directed by Mikael Hafstrom is sure to leave you and your houseguests terrified. Max Braden from The Trades had this to say about 1408: "At about twenty minutes or so in to the movie I suddenly realized that my pulse was rapid. This was notable to me because of the rarity of such and occurrence at the movies even when watching a thriller, but it was even more notable because the really scary stuff hadn't even started yet."

Vic Holtreman from Screen Rant didn't admit to a rapid pulse, however, he did say he enjoyed seeing an "old school" horror flick, which he did admit was incredibly effective. Holtreman also added, "There was a bit of graphic gore in the film, but only still black and white photos. What really gets to the viewer is the sense of dread and fear of what will happen next."

3. Vacancy. A husband and wife, David (Luke Wilson) and Amy (Kate Beckinsale), discovered the shabby hotel that they chose to stay in was a lot more than they had bargained for! Will the couple manage to make it out alive?

When Brian Orndorf from Filmjerk watched Vacancy, he described it as "bracing, blissfully succinct and rip-the-armrest-off terrifying! It's worth every blood-smeared minute of your time," he added.

Scott Hoffman from Movie Picture Film said, "Vacancy provides the chills and thrills needed to really freak someone out. There is always an underlying tension here. You know something is up with the hotel this couple checks into but you don't know what exactly."

4. Feast. If you enjoy flesh-eating monsters and gore, then Feast should be right up your alley.

Reviewer, FBRobertson, from Amazon gave Feast a five-star rating and said, "The people that bring us Feast know what we want, know what we like, and presents it in such a twist that keeps us glued to the action throughout the whole movie...something that many other movies out there in the horror field lack these days."

P. Myers also gave the horror flick a five-star rating and called it an "awesome, unpredictable gore fest!" He added, "Rent this one for Halloween."

5. Dead Silence. If you enjoy classic horror flicks and freaky dolls, then be sure to rent this movie to scare your guests on Halloween night.

A.M. Hernandez from Amazon gave Dead Silence four stars and had this to say, "There are definitely a few parts in the movie I jumped and after the movie I had to turn all the lights on because I was still spooked."

That concludes the four best 2007 horror flicks that you can enjoy with a house full of horror movie fans on Halloween night.

Awesome! Horror is my favorite all time movies and books! I just watched Vacancy last week and it was great but I did not like the ending. The rest of the movies you mentioned I haven't seen yet but would love to. I try to watch every horror movie I can. Have you ever seem "House of Wax", "Final Destination 1, 2, and 3" and "Thirteen Ghosts"? These are my favorite movies right now. I also loved The Grudge 1 and 2. Great article. :)
