Best New 2010 SUVs Selling for Less Than Twenty Five Thousand Dollars!

There is literally a bumper crop this year on SUVs and in this article I will detail the best SUVs that I feel are worth checking out when you are shopping for a vehicle. With so many SUVs to choose from at so many dealers waiting to cut a good deal, it is getting harder to decide on just one! One thing I will say for sure is that most SUV owners are not going back to a sedan or compact anytime soon!

The trend in mid sized and compact SUVs is to have more features across more models, but they also realize it is smart to keep things simple and cheap as well. There are more Jeep models under $25K that it really was a
difficult decision which models to include in this list!

My favorite 2010 model year SUVs are the following:

1) Jeep Compass. $23,385 MSRP. Front Wheel Drive with 2.4 Liter 4 cylinder with 172 hp. 23 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. This JEEP is an interesting phenomenon in that it gets great gas mileage and has plenty room for Cargo and passengers. Not too certain I love the body styling, but they have grown on me since they came out.

2) Jeep Liberty Sport. $24,865 MSRP. Four Wheel Drive with 3.7 Liter V-6 engine and 210 hp. 15 mpg city and 21 mpg highway. This model is gaining in popularity where I live since it is pretty zippy with the 4WD and 210 hp V-6 engine!

3) Jeep Patriot Limited. $24,550 MSRP. Four Wheel Drive with 2.4 Liter 4 cylinder engine getting up to 172 hp just like the Compass. This model gets an amazing 23 mpg city and 28 mpg on the highway! It is a good choice for northeast Ohio winters!

4) Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. $24,585 MSRP. Four Wheel Drive with 3.7 Liter V-6 engine at 205 hp. same size engine as the Liberty Sport. fuel mileage is good on this model which was a surprise to me having owned Wranglers before. This model has the four doors and can seat up to five passengers total. expect 15 mpg in the city and 19 mpg highway!

5) Dodge Journey SXT. $23,990 MSRP. Front Wheel Drive with 3.5 Liter V-6 engine that develops an impressive 235 hp while still getting decent mileage. Specifications show it gets 16 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. The most interesting feature is the fact this SUV seats seven!

6) Dodge Nitro Heat. $23,250 MSRP. Four Wheel Drive with 3.7 Liter V-6 Engine generating 210 hp, seating five, and getting 15 mpg city adn 21 mpg highway. These Dodge models are really impressive with regard to the engineering that went into making them more potent and more popular with a broad audience. In the Northeast Ohio Winter these will be out in force i am certain. Have not seen these little guys with a plow, but I am sure that someone is working on that now.

Overall the quality of the Jeep vehicles is fairly stout, and in comparison I am running a 1997 Jeep Wrangler with the 4.0 Liter straight six and there is a plow on it. We use it for plowing our long gravel driveway.

When we are ready for a new vehicle i am definitely going to check out these six models again!
