Best 24 Hour Restaurants in Sydney, Australia

Neighborhood: Sydney
Although a vibrant and happening city, Sydney is not so much a 24 hour city as New York or Hong Kong, and there is indeed lack of anything 24 hours including restaurants and snack bars. However, there are still some around the city to satisfy the cravings of those night owls that occasionally need a bite when everyone else is deep in their dreams.

City Extra

There are two City Extra restaurants in Sydney, one right on the shores of the circular quay, where the ferries take business people and tourists alike through the beautiful Sydney harbour. And the other, is on the western side of Sydney is a suburb called Parramatta, where locals go for vibrant night life and great gourmet eats.

Their menu is presented characteristically in the form of a newspaper. And the restaurant's international menu includes Aussie icons of meat pie and fish and chips, to pasta, to steak to a sweet mid-night dessert of ice cream.

Slightly high in price, but will be open if you are craving for something fatty in the mid hours of the night.

Circular Quay restaurant: Shop E4, East Podium, Sydney

Parramatta restaurant: 301 Church St, Parramatta

Maisy's Café

In the hub of the hip Neutral Bay, Maisy's Café is famed for their pancakes and many snack type items. Not great for their customer service but worth a visit for a night owl with a sweet tooth. They also serve various types of drinks including coffee and tea café style.

Address: Shop 1, 164 Military Road, Neutral Bay

Betty's Soup Kitchen

A gem in the midst of a busy party district, Betty's Soup Kitchen is just what you would need after a bit of heavy dancing. Serves hearty soups that will warm your stomach in a friendly atmosphere, this would have to be the best out of the list here.

Address: 84 Oxford Street, Sydney

If none of the above satisfies your cravings, there is always the odd Kebab take away just around the corner. The best bet is to try to get food in your hotel if you are staying in one, or buy some snacks during the day to keep for the night. Sydney really isn't that much of a 24 hour city and unless you are here during a celebration or festival, where shops may open to the odd hours, it's unlikely you'll be able to find anything 24 hours.
