Best 5 Halloween Costumes for Dogs

Luna Hanie
I know there are some of you out there that love to dress up your pet for the holidays. I know I do it despite my pets and Jay Leno not liking the idea. I am the last person that someone would go to for advice on how to make your own Halloween costumes for pets from scratch and if you are not sewing savvy yourself then you have come to the right place. Here is a list of five Halloween costume ideas that I have done in recent years and they are economical as well (the last one might not cost you anything). I have two small dogs; one is a boy and the other is a girl and they looked so adorable in these pet Halloween costumes!

1. Prisoner: This is a really cute Halloween costume for a dog. You can find it at my favorite pet costume website halloweencostumes.net. The "Bad Dog" costume as they call it comes with a black and white striped prisoner hat and a matching black and white shirt with short sleeves. The words "Bad Dog" are across the front of the shirt like a prisoners' number. The price of this cute outfit is only $13.99!

2. Indiana Jones: This is another cute Halloween Costume for dogs. It can also be found at Halloweencostumes.net. It seems fitting since Indiana Jones named himself after his beloved pooch according to the latest installment of the Indiana Jones series. This outfit comes with a hat and a jumpsuit that are simple to put on. There is even a cute little whip attached to the front under the plush arms. Want to know why else this costume is so great? It is on clearance for $6.99 which is an incredible deal.

3. Princess Leia: If you're a Star wars fan like I am and you have a female dog than this is a great idea for a Halloween dog costume. Why not dress your dog up like Princess Leia? I did this last year with my girl and she looked so adorable! The outfit comes with a white jumpsuit and a bun hairpiece and is priced at a reasonable $16.99.

4. Dog: Here is a funny idea for a pet costume. Why not dress up your dog like a dog? Talk about irony! On Halloweencostumes.net there is an inexpensive costume called "Astro Dog" and it comes with a jumpsuit with plush arms and an animated Astro Dog headpiece. How cute is that, and for only $12.99 to boot.

5. Gym-goers: For those of you not looking to buy anything but want to dress up your pet, here is an idea I came up with three years ago. I took my work out wrist bands and headbands and put them on my dogs and dressed myself in my gym clothes. It was a hit at the neighborhood Halloween block party!

Halloweencostumes.net is a great website for all your dog costume needs. Their prices on their pet costumes are some of the cheapest around and in my personal opinion are of great quality. To Brandon: Nah, just tie a couple honey buns from the grocery store on your cat's head! It's festive AND tasty.

Great ideas! I should dress my Black Lab up like an angel. That will really confuse people! (Actually, he IS a sweetheart, except when he's being naughty, i.e. Me: "Come here NOW, Mr. Man!" and Buddy gives me a sassy look and takes off in the other direction)
