"Valkyrie" - This was a great movie and most likely would have been fun to watch with or without Tom Cruise. I have to admit that even though I knew how the movie would end I really wanted the good guys to win and assassinate Hitler. Tom Cruise's character Colonel von Stauffenberg was a likable enough guy and Cruise did a good job playing him. Despite what some people may feel about Valkyrie I still think it was a good movie.
"War of the Worlds" - I haven't seen this movie in a while, but when it came out I really liked it. Once again Tom Cruise did a good job portraying a character who was in a tough and dire situation. The action sequences were great, the cinematography was good, and there was a good supporting cast as well. I know that this film was made fun of in one of the Scary Movies, but that doesn't take away from the fact that Cruise did a good job acting and the movie was in my opinion a hit.
"Vanilla Sky" - I imagine that this movie would have been tough to act in, because it was down right weird. Tom Cruise did a wonderful job playing his character, David Aames, who was in a car accident and became severely disfigured. This movie is definitely one you'd have to view a couple of times to actually appreciate.
The last two slots are really hard for me to decide on because there are more than just two I'd like to add to the list. All 3 Mission Impossible movies were really good and had a lot of action. I guess out of them I'd say number three was the best. On the other hand I liked Jerry Maguire, Far and Away, A Few Good Men, and Top Gun. From that list if I was going to choose I guess my last two slots would consist of Top Gun and Far & Away. Both of these movies are ones you could watch over and over again without getting tired of them.
I'm sure that there are some movies you are wondering about and why they didn't make my list. I have to go with what I like and sometimes what I like isn't what everyone else likes, sorry. If you want leave a comment, because I'm always interested in hearing the opinions of fellow movie goers.

Post a CommentAt first I was going to make a glib comment about how your list proves there are no good Tom Cruise Movies. Then I realized you left Eyes Wide Shut, Rain Man, Minority Report and Magnolia. By the way that would be in that order movies 1 through 4 on my list of top 5 Tom Cruise films with A Few Good Men being number 5 on that list..
