Best AC Content on Halloween Haunted Houses

Eric Brennan's "Five Easy Tips for the Ultimate Haunted House" is informative, detailed and direct. His first point about haunted houses points out how location is one of the most important "details". I like Eric's article because I have written a similar article and we both share the idea that anything near a cemetery or graveyard is ideal for "making" a haunted house. I also agree with him that there are "themes" that can make one fearful like bats, snakes, even roaches sometimes. He is right about ANYTHING that gives people the "creeps" or phobia. He is concise and points out that one can only "make" a haunted house IF the person is inclined to fear anything. It really is something like psyche-game. Drawing an idea is also a great idea because it is easier to build a haunted house when one has a "visual" idea of what one is planning to build which is good advise. His idea of using sounds to add to the scary ambiance is also an easy and practical one.

Darin Torre's Tips on "How To Start Your Own Haunted House Attraction" is also useful and interesting, particularly his suggestion of making your own home a haunted house attraction. After all, why NOT? It's the place where you have the most control over and as long as your family is a brave bunch, it's fun having a "home transformation" from the traditional house to the haunted one. His idea of the whole neighborhood being involved is a great one and I couldn't help but laugh when I imagine his plans for a "neighborhood zombie attack".

Beth Keely's "Creating a Home Made Haunted House" may seem short but it sure covers basically everything that characterizes a haunted house. A very interesting and read however is that written by Hilltop Anthology "How to Transform Your Garage into a Spookadelic Haunted House". I am amused by his term, "Spookadelic" and the his rather detailed directions of things to buy in the hardware to come up with your garage "haunted house". I find his idea of the "chicken bell" for kids "who can't handle a fight" because it is indeed a safety measure. After all, not all kids may enjoy "getting scared" and Halloween is a time to have fun not to traumatize kids. His idea of SAFETY is also something we should all be reminded about when celebrating Halloween.

JE Davidson's "How To Make Your Home Into an Ideal Haunted House" is creative. She points out how huge boxes can be decorated to appear like "tunnels" because this keeps the kids inside the house and occupied-- yet they can have safe fun. Besides, her idea of making tunnels out of boxes is something an adult would enjoy, particularly the way she her box tunnel "ends" which will require creativity.

CBB's "How to Create a Haunted Halloween Forest for Adults" makes me enthusiastic to come up with his/her ideas because he/she takes into account the FACT that even adults need and WANT to have fun on Halloween too. I find the "haunted forest path" idea a fun one because one would have the experience of wanting the path to end if he/she is scared enough or wanting the path to take longer one finds it fun. His "dry ice" effect is also another novel "scary" idea that may frighten "sensitive" adults.

When it comes to Halloween writing and ideas, and almost anything under the sun, NOTHING can beat AC Producers, including myself (ehem) from coming up with the most novel articles. Where else but in AC can you find such writers gifted with enough brains to teach you how to create haunted tunnels, houses, forest pathways? Nowhere else.
