While taking any aerobics class can be a great, fun way to exercise and get into shape, for those who want to target their hip and thigh area they will want to pick an aerobics class that focuses more on those problem areas. Here is a look at some aerobics classes you can take to get your hips and thighs into shape but also have fun while you are at it. Remember before starting any new major workout regime to talk with your doctor first to get the go-ahead!

The first class is called step aerobics. These are different from traditional aerobics classes in the fact you work vertically instead of horizontally. You will usually start out with a step about four inches high if you are a beginner and then as you progress you will gradually increase this. Combined with arm movements you will feel more energized and your hip and thigh area will get the workout they need. You will want to purchase a comfortable pair of shoes and workout clothes as well as a step aerobic bench if your class does not provide you with one of your own.

Next we will take a look at spinning classes. These are great because not only are you really giving your legs, thighs and hips the perfect workout you are burning a ton of calories in general. You will use a special stationary bike called a "spinning bike" where you will start pedaling and your instructor will guide you through your workout with special music and guided imagery. You will really feel as though you are cycling uphill while outdoors in the middle of Spring. Many people love their spinning classes because they claim they feel better inside as well as outside.

Zumba is all the rage these days in the aerobics world. Besides being great for getting your thighs and hips in shape many love it because it is just so fun! Zumba combines easy to follow movements with Latin rhythms into an aerobics program that will leave you sweating and wanting more. It works by combining faster and slower rhythms all the while building up resistance and sculpting those target areas such as your hips and thighs. These classes used to be a bit harder to find but with an increase in popularity you should easily be able to find one close to your location.
