Best Affordable Gifts for Families with Babies

Holiday Gift Guide

Getting gifts for babies can be hard. Really hard. You don't want to get something that can be a possible health hazard, but you don't just want to get the standard stuffed toy that doesn't show any sort of personal touch at all. Again, you want to get something that won't create problems for the parents (such as a really loud drum set) or get something that doesn't relate to the baby at all but is entirely for the parents. Also, avoid getting clothing items for babies as they'll outgrow them in a matter of weeks and it won't make a very good gift. So here are some gift ideas that will make gift selection for the family with the new baby really easy:

Skip hop pronto mini changer - The mini changer has a zippered section for small items and mesh sides to hold diapers and wipes. It has a portable cushion for the babies head and is laminated to help with quick clean ups. The entire package folds up into a smaller than backpack easy to carry bag. And at just $30 it's super affordable too. A perfect gift for new parents that helps with the baby.

Soft knights skittles drum - A drum that contains six knight sticks that are made of cloth and are soft stuffed. The knights have a beany weighted bottom. The knights can be set up and bowled sown by children with the crocheted ball. The six knights fit into a drum and the entire thing costs just $60. The set serves as a play toy for young children that isn't dangerous in any way, and doubles as a soft-sound drum (remember I said no loud noise things?). This is a good gift for a little boy.

Zhivago furry baby booties - Priced at a reasonable $35, these cute furry booties are perfect for a child from birth to 6 months old. The booties keep the feet warm, and are rather cute. You can find variations of the gift with a quick search online.

Soft baby blankets - Baby blankets are really good gifts as it is something that most parents desire for their children and almost have to get. The blankets are not only cheap at just $50 or so, but are also long lasting. Look for something that is more soft-toned than traditional blankets - soft baby blue for boys and soft pink for little girls. Some really cute ones that I have seen also have a small satin sash or ribbon to tie the blanket together for traveling purposes and some even have stuff animals attached.

A family Photo Tree - This is a soft padded little tree with embroidered lines showing family relationships and places for pictures on it. It helps children grasp the concept of a family tree and have something to recognize different relatives by. The family photo tree is also a really cute decorative item and can stand upright or can be hung on the wall. The tree also has some extra spots for pets and special friends. At just $25 or so, this is also a perfectly priced and great gift for children.

Puff the penguin & igloo set - This is a cute little set available at some stores and online. It is a set of a little penguin, Puff, with an igloo. Other than being a cute little toy, this can also be used as an educational toy for many kids to teach them about colder regions, like Antarctica and Alaska. Fun stuff. The set costs around $20 at some online stores. This is another gift that will have great value for children as educational and play toys.
