Best Appetizers for College Football Parties

You'll Score Big with These Tasty Hot Appetizers

LM
Is there anything better than college football? I think not. I host several college football parties a year and have become an expert at what to serve my fellow fans.

Get the party started with these fantastic, easy, hot appetizers.

Baked Cocktail Sausages

Don't let the boring name deter you. Imagine little cocktail sausages wrapped in a strip of crescent roll (yes, the canned kind), and then baked in a buttery, honey, nutty sauce. I usually double the batch because they fly off the platter so quickly.

½ cup melted butter

½ cup chopped nuts

3 tablespoons honey

3 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tubes Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

1 (16 oz) package Hillshire Farms Cocktail Links

Line a 9x13 pan with aluminum foil (for easy, lazy clean-up). Mix butter, nuts, honey and brown sugar together. Pour mixture into lined pan.

Separate crescent rolls into triangles. Use a pizza cutter to cut each triangle into 4 tiny triangles. Wrap each cocktail sausage in a piece of crescent roll by placing sausage on larger part of dough and rolling up to smaller end.

Arrange wrapped sausages on top of sauce mixture. Bake at 400 for 20-25 minutes, or until golden.

Taco Dip

This is one of the easiest, tastiest taco dip recipes you'll ever prepare. It takes some simple pre-planning, though.

Two 8-oz bricks of Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened

One 8-12oz jar of salsa.

Combine softened cream cheese and salsa. Spread on platter and refrigerate overnight.

Prior to serving, top with shredded cheese, lettuce and tomato, if desired. Serve with tortilla chips.

Reuben Dip

This tasty, hot dip is as delicious as its namesake sandwich. Simply combine all ingredients, spread mixture in a pan and bake.

2 small packages Buddig Corned Beef, chopped

1-14oz can sauerkraut, drained

8 oz Swiss cheese, shredded

2-3 green onions, chopped

¾ cup mayonnaise

8 oz cheddar cheese, shredded

Mix all ingredients. Spread in a 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Serve on cocktail rye bread.

Whether you're the host or a guest, try these recipes at your next football party. You'll be declared the MVP of the game.

Great ideas! I think the only part of football I enjoy is enjoying the food during the game! ;-)
