Customer Service is Unbeatable
Tom (the owner) greeted me with an open mind as soon as I entered the store. He immediately asked what it was I needed and how he could serve me. I was completely caught off guard, due to the previous disasters elsewhere. Every place I had gone to, within a fifty mile radius, turned their backs on me. In fact several stores asked me how long until my husband would be arriving. Dumb move on their parts and horrible customer service. Had they asked what I needed, they would have known that I was the major purchaser. One archery store refused to even let me hold onto a bow! Not here at Tom's place; I was treated with the utmost respect and given kudos for my passion. While I was searching around the store, Tom even told other customers how teaching women and children topped that of men. His reasoning--no preconceived notions or bad habits in beginners and women learn faster. I had found my home; finally.
Knowledge and Lessons
After inquiring about my budget, likes, dislikes, and prior experience the lessons began. Tom grabbed a bow and set it up to my draw length and poundage. He then allowed me to choose a release after carefully explaining all the variations. I was so nervous, yet completely comfortable, as I held the bow in my hands. I fired questions left and right as I lined up to shoot my first arrow. Tom confidently answered each inquisition, while critiquing my stance, form, and hold. I gained more information in the first half hour at Bucks and Bulls, than I had in months of researching! Although, several other customers appeared; Tom's attention was never off my aim. Now that is excellent customer care, my friends. I didn't care if I had to drive 200 miles; it was worth the time and energy that would be spent on the future mini-adventures.
No-pressure Sales and Goodwill Blessings
About an hour and a half past, like the blink of an eye. I knew what I wanted and decided to pick it up right away. Tom enjoyed my enthusiasm, but was more interested in a well thought out decision than a sale. He asked me to think it over and call or stop back when I was sure. What? I know big purchases are supposed to take time and never be a snap decision, but I was pumped. Tom also let me know that if I bought a bow from another place, he would still set it up for me or do any future tweaking. Needless to say, I went back and purchased my first bow from a super sales man; named Tom.
Those of you within a decent drive, need to check this place out. I am telling you it is top notch. Bucks and Bulls is located at 2221 Post Road in Plover, WI., smack dab in the middle of the state. They open everyday at 10:00 A.M.. If you are unavailable during business hours, I am confident that Tom will set you up at your convenience. The number is (715) 341-2825. When you talk to Tom tell him Tina says "Hi!"
A good friend of mine had once tried to purchase a G P S system, but couldn't. When I asked why, he stated that the salesman wouldn't sell him one. My buddy had the cash in hand, yet the clerk was uninformed and not catering to his needs. I laughed at that story at least a hundred times, until I found myself in the same predicament. I jokingly told people--I went to buy a bow and no one would sell me one. I am sure glad my negative experiences led me to my new home, where I am always greeted with a friendly smile and useful knowledge.
