Best Asian Food in North Texas: Mr. Chopsticks, Denton, Texas
Top Texas Asian Cuisine Restaurant: Oriental Food
Denton, TX 76201
United States of America
Established in 1985 by Numchai Tamprateep
Mr. Chopsticks began with a simple fast food menu and became a full service restaurant and a true American success story. The consistent flavorful cooking has captured the hearts and taste buds of the health-conscious with its fresh herbs, raw vegetables and light seasonings. For those who care, no MSG is added except for that which naturally occurs in soy sauce.
You can go to www.mrchopsticks.com and see a complete menu as well as address and phone number. You can order ahead and pick up at the drive through if you prefer. Menu prices include tax. The price listed is the price you will pay in total.
A Difficult Choice
It's hard enough to choose from the vast selection on the menu but when your steaming hot platter arrives you'll be so delighted at the mouth watering flavor that next visit you'll want to order the same thing again.
My husband and I order different items so we get a taste of each one. He adores the Mongolian Tofu and so do I, so I don't mind that he gets it every time. My latest favorite is Veggie Supreme which the waitress suggested (because it's her favorite) and now I'm hooked on that. Sesame Chicken is out of this world!
It took me years before I would try something different.
Great Service
The service is always quick, friendly and ready to help in your decision-making. Start with an order of Stir Fried Green Beans (Yum! Yum!) to share because in a matter of minutes your generous entree arrives with any accompaniment you might want including chopsticks.
If you plan to shop the historic Denton square after lunch bring a cooler because you'll have plenty of food left over to enjoy another day.
New Location
A few years back a part of legendary Fry street was bought by a Houston developer who promptly bulldozed all the quaint restaurants including Mr. Chopsticks to make way for a shopping strip nobody wanted.
The old Mr. Chopsticks had a variety of rooms to sit in including a delightful outdoor spot. Where would Mr. Chopsticks go? Would he close?
Fortunately, not. Mr. Chopsticks took over another restaurant location which had been unsuccessful for three previous establishments and sat empty. It's smaller than the old place and hard to find a parking place, but the crowd goes anyway. The drive through (which they didn't have before) can accommodate you if you prefer take out. Life continues as before for the legion of fans of Mr. Chopsticks. Beware; once you try it you'll join the rest of us who are addicted to the best food of its kind anywhere - bar none.
