I bought a standard fit in the kitchen sink tub. Which I used once and was so afraid that my son would fall out and land on the floor I never bathed him in the kitchen again. This tub was also good for the floor so I tried that what a mess while I was more comfortable doing this, the water seemed to splash every where and it just seemed awkward to me. Trying to move a tub of water just did not seem like a smart thing to do. My son did not overly enjoy it either. I bought about 4 or 5 more of these tubs in different shapes and sizes but all of them just did not feel right in one way or another.
I bought a seat that attached to the side of the tub. This did not work for me either. I literally cut my finger on the plastic trying to secure it to the tub. With a little pressure the seat could come away from the bracket. So I abandoned this option.
I bought an inflatable tub. Exhausting blowing that up. It did work but cleaning it was not fun. After each bath you really had to clean the sides, and where to store it? If i deflated it fine, but I was not going to do this every day. So that went out the door as well.
I started to give up hope when I found this amazing item on the internet. It was called the aqua pod by MotherCare. It was an item in the UK. Oh boy, did I really want to spend money on something that may or may not work again. I was desperate so I sent away for it and it took a month. My husband was pretty patient about the whole thing. When it finally arrived I took it out of the box. The bottom was a suction cup mat, the top was a chair that had suction cups as well that fit into the mat. I was skeptical. I put it in the tub. I could not believe how secure the suction cups were and how many there were. I filled up the tub half way and it showed me the water temperature was just right buy a little temperature duck that was on the mat portion. I put my son in the chair and it actually allowed him to sit upright. This thing was amazing. Honestly I could not believe how great this product was. Best thing I ever bought and it is really safe in my opinion.
I thought I have to get these tubs in North America. I checked into it and I tried to become a distributor but I could not. But any individual can go online and do a search if they want one they could buy one if they wanted to.
Now our son is 18 months and no longer uses the chair part but we still keep the anti-slip mat part in the tub for him.
I know that there used to be some type of bath ring, and I never did try it. I also never tried the baby pod either. If you have write a comment on this piece and let me know if you liked them or not.
