Best Back to School Shopping in Port Saint Lucie, FL
Forget Sales Hype, These Are The Places With The Best Prices
Target for one is a great place for school supplies. While traditionally the store's prices are higher than most, during the weeks leading up to school going back into session, it offers many great deals, though this still isn't the best place for clothes and/or backpacks. With so many students entering middle school and high school, Target is the place to go for notebooks. One could buy a ten pack of spiral notebooks for less than five dollars. You can also get a pack of crayons, wide-ruled notebook paper and construction paper for your pre-K or elementary school student.
In Port Saint Lucie, the place to shop for school clothes would have to be JC Penney's in the Treasure Coast Mall. While it doesn't have many of the "hip" new styles that many kids want to wear to school, that doesn't matter this year. Since Port Saint Lucie schools have implemented new dress codes, all kids need are white polo shirts and slacks for boys and white blouses and knee-length skirts for girls. JC Penney's, I have found, is always reasonable on their prices and even more so when the school season is about to start. A week's worth of clothes for kids can be bought for around one hundred dollars and shoes can be purchased for less than fifty dollars.
When it comes to backpacks, the best assortment can be found at any Wal-Mart location. Since the new fad with backpacks is to have them off the back and on wheels, Wal-Mart is better still. A great backpack on wheels can be bought at the store for twenty dollars or less. If you wanted to buy the same backpack at Target, even with all of its great sales, you could spend almost double the Wal-Mart price. Wal-Mart is also great for cheap, clear backpacks, which many schools are mandating for their students to be using.
Though many parents hate to put out the money, kids are turning more and more toward computers for their school homework. A great place to purchase a great running, but cheap laptop is Circuit City. The store offers many basic models that have enough of what your kid needs to get his or her homework done. Don't fret if your kid thinks the laptop isn't great for games, that isn't what they're for. If you're even lucky, Circuit City might also be offering a rebate on an already cheap laptop.
That should basically cover it for anybody looking for great Back to School deals in the Port Saint Lucie area. Don't bother wasting your gas to look for cheaper alternatives, these stores are basically it. They'll be packed around the time school is getting ready to go back into session, so that should also say how great these stores are. It'll upset the kids that they can't have all the hip gear they want, but it isn't needed and it'll save money for the ones who are actually putting it out. So here's to happy and cheap shopping for parents.
