Back to school means back to school clothes, hair, and of course, makeup. It's an exciting time, and a time when you want to look just right. All you need is a few of the right products, the right looks, and a little bit of practice time with your BFF's and you'll be all ready for back to school. Here are my top picks for the best back to school looks. Which one do you like?
The Sophisticate. There is something about a red lip that screams 'sophisticated.' The look is simple. Start with flawless skin. Apply a neutral eye shadow, liner, and mascara to the eyes. Skip the blush and opt for a hint of matte bronzer, instead. And lastly, apply a great red lip.
To apply the red lip, you'll need neutral lip liner, your favorite red lipstick, and clear gloss. Start by lining your lips with the pencil, trying not to go outside the lines. Gently fill in your entire lip area. Using a lip brush for precision, dab on the red lipstick and blot. Apply several coats of lipstick, blotting in between each one. Lastly, coat lips with a clear gloss. You'll have a beautiful, long -lasting red lip.
The Cat's Meow. The cat eye has been around for a while, now. The classic cat eye is made with a liquid liner. Line the rims of your upper lashes and extend the line beyond your lids, flicking the ends up. For a soft, subtle version of the cat eye, try using charcoal eye shadow instead of liquid liner. Use unexpected colors to make the look uniquely your own. Add a shimmery blush and a soft lip to finish this look.
The New Smokey Eye. The smokey eye is another classic look that has been trendy for quite awhile. While you may like the dark, vampy look, this season's take on color makes it a great time to push the limits and experiment a bit. Make the smokey eye new by replacing dark and black shadows with a shimmery bronze or a deep purple hue. To make this look work, keep the darkest colors towards your lashes and the lightest colors toward your eyebrows. Blend well, so the shadow appears to fade from dark to light. Don't forget to line your eyes and use two coats of a volumizing mascara. A nude lip and a soft cheek are just right to balance out this intense look.
Rocker Glam. Purple has long been a fav of mine. Keep this look easy, simple, and slightly undone looking. Line upper and lower lids with a fat, electric purple liner. It's o.k. if it smudges a bit. If you feel the need, line your eyes again with a super skinny, black line right along the lash base. A simple lip gloss is all you need to complement this look. Finish with a great mascara and you are ready to rock and roll!
