Best Bars in Danville, PA for Anyone Over 21

Top 3 Hoppin' Bars in Danville, PA

Ranee Wright
Three of the best bars in Danville, PA are The Pub II, Old Forge Brewing Company and BJ's Steak and Ribs. You can easily hop to all of these hangouts because they are all in close proximity on Danville's main drag, Mill Street. People of all ages, over 21, frequent these hot spots.

The Pub II 133 Mill Street, Danville PA

Hours: Monday through Thursday 3 pm to 2 am, Friday 11 am to 2 am, Saturday and Sunday 3 pm to 2 am.

The Pub II is beautifully decorated, clean and cozy. It was not one of the best bars in Danville, PA until it changed hands three years ago. Since then it has become a very popular hangout. You will find live music entertainment on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Two large flat screen TVs grace the lovely soft red colored walls.

The Pub II is one of the few places left that still allows smoking but they do offer a smoke-free lunch on Fridays. They have Open Mic. Nights on Tuesday and offer $3 Long Island Iced Teas from 10 to midnight. You will find great drink specials like $2 Yuengling drafts and Washington Apple drinks, $3.50 Jager Bombs and $4 Nacho Grande are some of the other specials you will find at the Pub II.

There are a variety of items to choose from on the Pub II menu: wraps, hoagies, salads, sandwiches, pizza, stromboli and appetizers. For something different, try their cashew chicken pizza.

Old Forge Brewing Company 282 Mill Street, Danville PA

Hours: Tuesday through Thursday 11 am to 10 pm, Friday and Saturday 11 am to 12 am.

Just down the street from the Pub II is the Old Forge Brewing Company, a hip bar with the freshest brew in Danville, PA. Their homemade beer is brewed at the restaurant on Mondays. There is a bar and wooden booths upstairs and downstairs. The brewery is a hip, clean and fun joint. Their prices are reasonable and they offer free Wi-Fi, outdoor dining and live entertainment. Visit their webpage to find out who will be playing at Old Forge Brewing Co.

Fresh brews on tap change with the season but you will find at least five different ones to choose from. Try samples of each new brew at the Old Forge. I recommend fresh brews like the dark Slack Tub Stout and light Celestial Blonde.

Menu options include appetizers, salads, soups, cold and hot sandwiches. Try the Spinach Tomato Dip appetizer and Chicken Satay Wrap. Also on the menu at the Old Forge Brewery is a huge 1/2 pound burger called The Purist.

BJ's Steak and Ribs 291 Mill Street, Danville PA

Hours: Sunday through Thursday 11 am to 12 am, Friday and Saturday 11pm to 2 am.

Just down the street from the Old Forge Brewing Company is BJ's Steak and Ribs. A bit pricier than Old Forge, BJ's has a more formal atmosphere. Sit at the bar, a booth or table. It is a popular favorite local bar to hang with friends. BJ's is a clean and classy joint.

BJ's Steak and Ribs drink choices include specialty cocktails, 12 fresh brewed beers on tap and a quality wine selection.

On the menu at BJ's Steak and Ribs is of course, steak and ribs. Their steak is premium Angus beef and their baby-back ribs are hickory smoked. They also serve a variety of salads, soups, appetizers, entrees, burgers, hot and cold sandwiches. Try the yummy Bongo Bongo Chicken and my favorite BJ's Ultimate Long Island Iced Tea.

You forgot to mention the one where I dance on Friday nights in my "special little outfit". Hmmm, on second thought, maybe that's why business has been down lately . . .
