Oswego, New York is small city on Lake Ontario. Between the tourists in the summer and the college students during the school year, there is plenty of activity to support an active night life. Some say Oswego has the most bars per capita of any similar sized city, and it rivals New York for the title of "City That Never Sleeps." Whether you are a local looking for somewhere new to check out, or someone just passing through to see the sites, here are a few good places worth spending some time in. Instead of heading for the nearest dive, check out the following pubs; you won't be disappointed!

1. King Arthur's Steakhouse: This medieval themed brew pub is a must see! With eight plus tasty brews on any given night, and great theme specialties including Beef Wellington and Scotch Eggs, all presented in a beautiful historic building on the lake, you can't go wrong! Happy hour is daily from 4 to 7 p.m. at this tavern which includes a full service restaurant. Stop by at 7 West Bridge Street, and don't forget to ask for one of their brew samplers to find the one that is right for you.

2. Club Crystal: This is Oswego's biggest night club, and boy is it hopping! There are two floors of activity every night with a wide music variety to please even the pickiest dancer. If karaoke is your thing, head downstairs on Friday nights, and for those in the mood for retro, there is 80's and 90's music every Thursday. Drink specials abound each night. If you are looking for the feeling of a big city club, give this hot spot on Water Street a try. It is pretty in pink and a great night out.

3. Toucan's Tropical Bar: If you're looking for something a little different, give Oswego's only tiki bar a try! This is another Water Street hot spot complete with a jungle room with palm trees, grass awnings, and abundant overhead foliage. There is dancing every night with live music on Fridays and Saturdays, and karaoke on Wednesdays. During Oswego's long cold winters, the tropical paradise theme is a great way to bring some warmth into your partying. Stop by and give it a try!

4. Old City Hall: If you're looking for someplace a little more laid back stop in at Old City Hall for a drink and a late night snack, and enjoy the live music playing five days a week while you're there. Live music is the forte here so check out their schedule and come hear both the latest talent and the old favorites. When the weather is good, take your food and drink outside to the deck and enjoy a gorgeous view of the Oswego River. Have a quesadilla with your magic hat pint and enjoy the stars twinkling overhead at Oswego's Old City Hall at 159 Water Street.
