Best Beaches Located in Michigan

Brandi Thornsberry
With summer just about here, you may want to head to the lake. I know I love taking the kids to the lake for a day. It makes the kids tired and we all have a blast. I can build castles and swim right along with my children. This mean by me acting like a kid again, my children think I am the coolest mom in the world. So it works out for everyone. Here are some of the lakes me and my children love to visit each and every year located right here in Michigan. All these lakes are a decent drive from Detroit, Michigan. Nothing to far.

Kensington Metro Park
2240 W.Buno Road
Milford, Mi, 48380
Annual $20
Seniors $12
Daily $4

A great park to go to no matter what your taste is. They have many things that you can do while here. There is something for every one to do on their 4,481 acre's. Biking on a paved eight and one half mile trail. There are some rolling terrains and a few steep hills. They are circle Kent lake. There are 10 ramps located at the East boat launch, and six ramps at the West boat launch which gives quick access to Kent Lake. You can also rent Paddle boats, kayaks and rowboats at this wonderful park. You do need to have a drivers license. Some of the many other things you can do here are swim, play in the sand, disc golf, fishing, golf on the 18 hole golf course, hiking, horseback riding if you own a horse, ice skating in the winter months, picnicking and many other things. My kids love coming to this park. There are many places located around the beach that have play areas for the children. Lots of open space for a fun game with the kids. You will spend all day here and still want to come back for more.

Hi Brandi. I may be a little bias but my favorite is Pere Marquette in Muskegon, or the beach in Grand Haven. I believe Pere Marquette has won an award for being one of the cleanest and we also have a doggie beach. I know we are the west side of the state and you could only covery so many beaches. Thanks
