Best Bed and Breakfast Hotels in Glasgow, Scotland: A Pretty City with Excellent Accommodations

Cassandra James
In the last few years, Glasgow, Scotland, has undergone a transformation from a dirty city full of slums and factories to a world-class European city full of museums, art galleries, fine dining restaurants, trendy cafes, excellent shopping and the best bed-and-breakfasts in the U.K. Once a city most tourists drove through on their way to somewhere else, Glasgow is now a city tourists flock to.

The largest city in Scotland, Glasgow is home to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, The King's Theatre, the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and nightclubs like The Garage that boast live music from some of the top U.K. bands. Shop on Argyle Street, eat at Alchemy or have afternoon tea at The Willow Tea Rooms. Luckily, Glasgow has some of the best bed-and-breakfast hotels (B&Bs) to stay in. On a trip to Glasgow, why not try one of these wonderful bed-and-breakfasts? You'll be happy you did.

Albion Hotel - Located in the West End of Glasgow, the Albion Hotel is one of Glasgow's best bed-and-breakfasts. It's been offering guests supreme bed-and-breakfast accommodation for more than 30 years. This B&B is near an underground train station, so it's easy to get to as well.

The Albion Hotel boasts non-smoking rooms with ensuite bathrooms, TV with cable, refrigerator, tea and coffee tray, a hairdryer, and a trouser press. Breakfast, of course, is included in the room rate and consists of a full Scottish breakfast or a lighter continental choice. The Albion Hotel also has a bar, if you want to spend the evening unwinding over a couple of drinks.

The B&B has single, twin and double rooms. All rooms are designed in a modern style, and look very stylish and chic. Each room boasts ensuite bathroom, TV and a coffee- and tea-making tray.

Breakfast is served in your room on a lovely breakfast tray, with a huge choice of continental breakfast items as well as tea or coffee and fruit juice. Barrisdale Bed-and-Breakfast also has a lovely garden area where you can sit outside in the warm spring and summer weather and enjoy a Scottish afternoon. No wonder it's known as one of Glasgow's best bed-and breakfast-hotels.

The hotel offers single, double, twin, triple, quad and family guest rooms with ensuite bathrooms, TV with house movies, hairdryer, iron, beverage making facilities and room service.

A full cooked Scottish breakfast is included in the room rate and can be served early if you need to leave before normal breakfast hours. Last time we stayed in a B&B in Glasgow was to watch Michael Flatley's latest show. The B&B was beside a park and very comfortable. The show was fantastic. This brought back some nice memories. Useful article, thank you.
