Benefit of Timeshare Ownership: No Inflation Costs
The cost of staying in a hotel is one that is significantly subject to inflation and increases, especially over the past 10 years. Timeshare ownership gets you out of the cycle of increasing rates for nightly stays because you pay for all your nights in advance when you purchase the timeshare. As an owner, you will get to use this timeshare every year for your whole life, and you won't have to pay increasingly more for it as hotel rates continue to increase.
Benefit of Timeshare Ownership: Resale Value
Another benefit of timeshare ownership can be easily seen when comparing timeshares and hotels to other things you can either rent or buy, like your regular home, or your car. If you lease your car, you make a monthly payment for a duration of time while you use it, and then at the end of your time, you give the car back to the company. However, if you purchase your car and finance it with monthly payments, when the payments are over, the car is fully yours, and you now own something with value.
Timeshares work the same way, so instead of paying for hotels year after year and not getting any tangible ownership over something out of it, you can purchase a timeshare. Even if you have to finance it over a number of years, when it is paid off, it is something with real value that you can turn around and sell to somebody else if you would like to.
Benefit of Timeshare Ownership: Generations of Vacations
Although this is not true of all timeshares (check the purchase contract for the exact duration of ownership), many timeshares are guaranteed as a purchase for the next 100 years or so. This means that once you pass away, your children (or somebody else of your choosing) will inherit your timeshare and continue using it as you did. Therefore, it is an investment not only in your vacations and retirement, but also in that of your children.
Benefit of Timeshare Ownership: Ability to Trade
Most timeshares these days are part of a network of timeshares within which you can trade for a stay at a different timeshare. That way, if you want to take a trip to an exotic location, you can probably trade your week at your normal timeshare location for a week in that special place, for just a low trading fee. This gives you far more flexibility than a traditional vacation home, which is much harder to move from one location to another.
Benefits of Timeshare Ownership: Conclusion
As you can see, there are a number of wonderful benefits of owning a timeshare, which is an investment into your future vacationing. For most people who vacation regularly, timeshare ownership is far more cost effective than staying in hotels, and owners appreciate the consistency of knowing that they will be well taken care of on their vacation.
