It is important to know where the views go and why you have no chance starting out to contend with any kind of broad subject audience. These blogs possess the marketing power of names such as CNN. However, while the blogs on the list of Top 100 Blogs are mostly big company driven, it is also important to remember that they have several bloggers posting regularly that are regarded as experts in their fields. While this type of success story doesn't happen to everyone everyday, it does happen to someone everyday.

Niche blogs:

As a writer, you must start with a niche and work that niche until it fully develops. Fully developing a blog, for instance an online writing blog such as Paula Mooney 's or Athlyn Green 's writeandearnaliving.com, takes time and commitment.

Niche Blogs get rewarded on lists too. Like "50 Best Mom Blogs 2010". If you are looking to start a mom blog, I would recommend going to that list, looking at the successful blogs and get an idea of what they are doing right.

Starting within a niche and creating good content within that niche is by far the best way to begin. Committing to that niche takes work. Part of that work is finding ways to not run out of article ideas without duplicating content. For a blog a niche blogger should set reasonable and achievable blog goals such as two to four posts per week. Find other blogs like your own and make deals with those bloggers on how you can link to those blogs and they can link to yours. This is sharing views and providing outlets for your readers. Don't be too selfish.

-Search Engine Optimization is the biggest key to making your blog easy to find. If your blog is easy to find, for instance on Google search engine, then you are far and wide more likely to gain viewers. The best way to do this is to write your article in a way where it ends up on the first page of Google searches. The technique of writing SEO for blogging or articles is writing an article or post to flow from title to description to body to keywords or tags. Proper use of SEO techniques is vital to success for the little guy. Use Google's keyword tools and trends to find ways to make your article easy to find.

-Advertisements is obviously the way blogs make money. Without advertisers bloggers and article writers become not-for-profit contributors. That isn't very economical now is it. Writing your blog or articles in a consistent content rich manner helps the advertisements stay narrow and related to the subject of your content or blog. Amazon and Google adsense are two of the most popular advertisement options for blogs. As your blog becomes more and more successful the blog writer will have opportunities to have companies contacting them for individual advertising contracts.

-Blogging is a business and like any successful business you should do the work and research to keep your blog current. View your blog as a money making business and keep it from being too personal. Stay within your niche and regularly read online writing tips. Such tips can be found at my own blog. There is always some sort of information out there that can be beneficial to you the blogger. Blogging websites know that blogging and SEO goes together hand in hand, just as they know that this is a business.

-Finding the right place to write or blog is extremely important. There are literally hundreds of places that one could write for. However, not all are good for beginners. Magazine Recognition:

If you do well enough you may just get your blog published in a powerful magazine such as Time. Time magazine did an article "Best Blogs of 2010". That right there is what I call good publicity.

Of course there is also the Blogger Choice Awards. This is where you want your blog to end up at except for the infamous Worst Blog of All Time. Ouch!

The good news is you can start a blog for free. You can place ads on your blog for free. You can link to other blogs, videos and content for free. But the work is for free too unless you work toward making your blog accessible to search engines such as Google, Yahoo! and Bing. And you want to watch out on who you make mad.
