Philadelphia best Brew Pub: Manayunk Brewery

Tucked on Main Street in Philadelphia, Manayunk, a Lenni Lenape word that means, "Where we go to drink," tapped its first batch of fresh brewed beers in 1996. Today, local beer connoisseurs flock to savor the award-winning beer on the outdoor deck overlooking the Schuylkill River and enjoy the live bands that perform regularly. A stone pizza oven and a sushi bar complete the dining experience.

Along with current seasonal choices, patrons can enjoy the house specials that include the Bohemian Blonde, the lightest beer the brewery offers, in addition to Krooks Mill, Manayunk Lager and Schuylkill punch. The cozy and comfortable restaurant serves regional and local cuisine, and entrees that include the braised short ribs, Harry's cedar plank salmon and the Chipotle chicken BLT. Also available is a late fare served until 2 am. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Philadelphia best Brewery: Philadelphia Brewing Company

Paying homage to local spirit, Philadelphia Brewing Company is one of Philadelphia best brewing company. Popular for its creative libations, a PBC beer makes it to the tap of every local pub. Signature beers feature the Kenzinger, "crisp, light bodied, golden beer," Newbold IPA (aromatic India Pale Ale), Rowhouse Red (American and European inspired with flavors of toasted malt and rye) and Walt Wit (dedicated to Walt Whitman, the beer has the characteristic zest of spice and citrus).

Get an insider's look as you take an informal tour available on Saturdays between noon and 3pm. This informal tour allows you to discuss the intricacies of beer brewing with the PBC staff and look at the historic building. The company does not serve food.

Philadelphia best Brew Pub: Iron Hill Brewery

Starting business in 1996, Iron Hill Brewery was awarded five world beer-cup medals and is one of the popular brewpubs in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, serving handcrafted beers and an informal, casual cuisine.

The place is an absolute delight for beer lovers, as they watch a live demonstration of the brewing process. Some of the popular beer choices include Lager Light, Lodestone Lager (a German-inspired lager with a distinct malt flavor), Anvil Ale, Raspberry Wheat and Ironbound Ale. Fare includes fresh soups, salad, appetizers, hearth-baked pizzas, Angus-beef burgers, sandwiches and wraps. Shrimp Jambalaya, chicken potpie, St. Louis ribs are some delicacies that tops the Brew house's favorite list. Also available are a gluten-free, kids and a dessert menu.

The Brewery is located in Media, just minutes away from Philadelphia.
