Best Campgrounds Near Thousand Islands, New York
A Review of the Best Places to Park You Camper or RV on Your Trip to the 1,000 Islands
Merry Knoll Campground-
The Merry Knoll Campground is located near the Village of Clayton just about ten minutes from the 1,000 Islands International Bridge. On site amenities include a camp store, swimming pool, playground, game room, and fishing pier. There are several marinas nearby that feature a wide array of boats that can be rented. There is space available for the parking of a dozen or so RVs and campers as well as two stand alone cottages in which you can stay as well. The rates for campsites range from $30 to $35 per night plus service fees for air and heat for the units. The cottages range from $38 to $45 per night.
Adirondack 1,000 Islands Camping-
This place is huge! Lots of parking space for everyone. Even room for big rig RV and travel trailers. Features include a large tent area, camping cabins, shady sites, full hookups, clean bathrooms, laundry, store, ice, firewood, propane, indoor heated pool, hiking trails, playground, pavilion, and leashed pets are welcome here. Rates are available weekly, monthly, and group rates. Prices range from $35 a night for full hookup to $1,700 for the entire season full time. Camping cabins are available for up four people for $50 per night. The season runs May 15th through October 19th.
Birch Haven Campground-
The Birch Haven Campground is located just five miles from the village of Clayton and sits on eleven acres with eighty sites and one rental cottage. Their season runs from may 1st through October 15th. The camping sites for mobile homes and RVs are rented seasonally for $2,100 per season. There is a one bedroom one bath cabin for rent for $600 per week. On site there are public rest rooms, laundry, showers, boat docks, and trailer storage available.
Black Lake Cottages-
Black Lake Cottages is a private family owned campground with RV spaces, tent areas, and rental cottages and furnished trailers available for daily and weekly rentals. Campsites range from $30 a night to $180 a week. Mobile Homes rent for $75 a day to $375 a week and cottages range from $125 a night to $550 a week. Leashed pets are allowed in the camping areas. However, no pets are allowed in the park owned units (mobile home and cottages). On site bathing and laundry facilities are also available.
