Best Cheap Hair Products

These Hair Care Products Are Inexpensive and They WORK!

Do you ever go to the grocery store and wanna scream about the cost of hair products? Why do these things cost so much? I've compared prices at the giants (Foodtown, A&P, Shoprite, etc.) and cannot see much of a price difference. Sometimes you can get a deal at Walmart or Target, but what if you've only got time to hit the grocery store? What brands of hair products do the trick and won't break your budget? Read on to discover GOOD, inexpensive hair care products like shampoo, conditioner, and hairspray:

Cheap Shampoo/ Conditioner:

First, I must express my love for a new shampoo and conditioner: I recently bought White Rain's "Fruit Fortifying" shampoo and conditioner (they look very similar to Garnier's "Fructisse" brand.) I was at Walgreen's with very little dough and picked up these gems for $1 each! I believe it was a Walgreen's special, and this pharmacy is generally as expensive as the above-mentioned grocery stores. Regular price is still less than $2 a bottle. The shampoo is rich and smells like grapefruits. You only need a little to lather once, unlike some other junky brands that might take 2 lathers. The conditioner, also an exquisite grapefruit concoction, is thick too and you just need a dollop. No greasies afterwards!

Cheap Styling Gel:

Okay, this one is bordering on average-priced. But it's great. Dove, a brand which I love for its simplicity, makes hair gel and mousse that are very gentle and leave hair soft and non-tacky. The "Define & Shine" control gel smells fantastic, but not overwhelming. Again, it does not leave hair tacky at all. With finishing products, it seems best to splurge a bit ($2.99 regular price) and get stuff that doesn't leave your hair stiff like a bad 80's hair-do.

Cheap Hairspray:

This following brand is ALWAYS cheap, and I love pretty much all of their products (unlike some other cheap brands where I'd say you have to be careful to pick and choose.) Suave makes a great "Naturals" hairspray that mimics Clairol's "Herbal Essences" line, but for a fraction of the price. It smells like flowers, and getting "flexible hold" ensures that it won't be too sticky. Even "extra hold" is gentle.

Cheap Hair Color:

Finally, I experimented with haircolor in my early 20's and found Revlon's "Colorsilk" (only $3.99 in some stores) to be inexpensive and effective. Recently, due to some strange experimenting, I needed to use a hair color to cover up a "hair don't", and turned again to "ColorSilk" because of its price, coverage, and ability to leave my hair soft and silky.

Conclusion:

I do believe all of these products are worthy of use. Sure they're cheap, but they do the job and they don't kill your wallet. Save the extra cash for your dream vacation!
