Christmas gifts for cats are a fun way to express your love for your furry friend this holiday season. Here are some great Christmas gift ideas for kitties.

1. Buy a toy mouse. The most tried and true Christmas gift for cats is the mouse. Whether you choose a traditional stuffed toy mouse or a laser variety, kitty will surely have hours of fun. Be sure to choose one with no detachable objects, and for even more hours of enjoyment, select a mouse that is stuffed with catnip.

2. Plant some cat grass. A small patch of cat grass is a great Christmas gift for cats. Typically wheat grass, cat grass is a wonderful plant that kitty can chew without fuss. Consider planting your plot in a large rectangular cake pan and offering a variety of plants like cat grass and catmint (catnip) for kitty to enjoy. Just watch to make sure kitty does not confuse his new garden with a litter box.

3. The gift of health is one every kitty appreciates! If you have a good budget for the holidays, consider a dental cleaning and checkup as a wonderful Christmas gift for cats. Giving your cat routine dental cleanings is in affect adding years to her life. Though the cat may act as if the tartar control is annoying, avoiding dental caries is well worth the struggle.

4. Give the gift of charity. If you cat is well provided for, a nice Christmas gift for cats is to donate funds to a charity that helps animals or specifically cats. Kitty won't mind too much that your gift budget for him was used to rescue a less fortunate feline. And, the charity can use your donation to make more kitties like the one you love have a merrier Christmas. If you and your kitty know someone with cats who is struggling, consider a big bag of kitty food left at the doorstep. After all, Christmas is a wonderful time to consider selflessness.

5. Give a snuggly gift. Kitties love to hide and relax. Consider a special cat sleeping bag or a cat bed as a good Christmas gift for cats who love to cuddle. Put the bed in a less accessible area for humans so the cat can feel well-secured. Of course, my cat prefers a paper grocery bag, but they don't come in as many cute patterns!

No matter what Christmas gift for cats you choose, kitty will be happy to be remembered this holiday season. Have a wonderful and safe holiday, and enjoy the love that your cat gives every day.
